College Prep + Credit

College Prep + Credit

Students have the flexibility to complete multiple courses with access up to five years, accelerating their academic progress and reducing the time to degree completion.

Studying journalism abroad was my dream, but the fees were too high. I had no idea about college credits until a YouTube video introduced me to UPI. I took UPI courses and earned 1.5 years' worth of credits. With a small scholarship, I finished my U.S. degree for less than $50K. Although I was hesitant because my course wasn’t STEM, UPI listened to my worries and assured me it would be possible. UPI opened doors for me that I didn’t think were possible.

I just got admitted to Michigan State, TMU, and Yorkville University as a second-year student with 60 transferable credits, saving two years of tuition and living costs. I chose a reputable university in the U.S. UPI promised to take care of me, and they delivered. I'm excited and grateful for all the opportunities I have received because of UPI. With the program, I got multiple admits with credits and had a lot of options.

After grade 12 in Punjab, I joined UPI and earned 60 transferable credits. I graduated in May 2023 and saved two years' worth of tuition fees. Now, I have a job at KPMG, which I do not think I could have achieved staying in India. I come from a small town, and without UPI’s help, my parents could have barely afforded two years of studies. UPI helped me get a degree and achieve my goals.

As a working professional, I wanted to advance my career with a Data Science degree. UPI Study allowed me to earn credits while working full-time, which I transferred to California State University. This helped me finish my degree in 1.5 years instead of 4. I'm graduating in fall '24 and will be working as a data analyst at a health startup. UPI was key to my career growth.

I stumbled across UPI and decided to earn some credits, seeing it as a cost-saving method. At that time, I didn't even know where I was going to go but decided to pursue it anyway. Getting into NUS was a big surprise for me since the credits I had earned were for U.S. universities. UPI then informed me that my credits would be recognized by NUS, allowing me to join with a year's worth of credits. UPI made NUS possible for me.

I had spent three semesters in the U.S., but my parents could no longer afford 2.5 more years of tuition. So, I packed up to go back to India after the summer. I saw a video on my Instagram about UPI study, decided to check it out, and it seemed like something that would really help my situation. I earned 45 credits online and spent just one more year at university, which saved me a lot of tuition, and graduated. UPI helped me finish my dream.

Learn More About College Credits

College Credit and Advanced Placement for UPI Courses

Most U.S. colleges offer credit, advanced placement, or both for qualifying UPI scores.

College Credit

Colleges often require a specific number of credits for graduation, typically 120 for a bachelor's degree. Credits represent the academic work you've completed. Many institutions grant credit for UPI courses accredited by NCCRS and ACE. For example, earning a 70+ on your Physics course could award you 8 college credits, allowing you to start college with credits already earned.

Advanced Placement

UPI Course scores can demonstrate your proficiency in certain subjects, enabling you to skip introductory or core courses. This process, known as advanced placement, lets you move directly into advanced coursework, potentially saving time and money.

Benefits of Earning Credits Early

Some students graduate early due to credits earned from UPI courses in high school, reducing tuition costs. Additionally, college credits from UPI can free up your schedule, allowing you to pursue a double major, internships, or other special programs.

Dual Benefits

In some cases, qualifying UPI scores can earn you both credit and advanced placement to next level course, providing both the credits and the ability to skip courses.

First, check with the admissions office at your new college to find out its UPI credit policy and deadlines for receiving scores. If your new college will grant credit for your UPI scores, you should send your scores through our score reporting system.

Each college sets its own policy regarding how many credits it will accept for transfer in total. Check the university website to see the limit on transfer credits. If you are not yet enrolled at a college when you take your UPI course, you can send your scores to your college when you enroll. Search institutions that accept ACE & NCCRS accredited courses to learn more about how many credits you could earn.
