Savings estimate = credits × $475, DSU's undergraduate rate of $1,425 per 3-credit course (2026-2027 Academic Catalog). Under the articulation agreement DSU does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to DSU's registrar review and policy.
Abnormal Psychology is the study of patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be distressing, disruptive, or outside typical functioning, and how psychologists understand and respond to them. It looks at how mental disorders are defined, how they are diagnosed using systems like the DSM, and what biological, psychological, and social factors may contribute to them.
Abnormal Psychology (Psychology 180) is a 3-credit course delivered online at your own pace, using video lessons, quizzes, and a single assignment. Grading is 20% quizzes, 30% assignment, and 50% final exam, so the final exam carries the most weight. When you complete the course and your transcript shows the grade, that record is what Dunlap-Stone University reviews and recognizes as PSY-305 – Abnormal Psychology.
The course teaches you to define abnormal behavior, read diagnostic criteria in systems like the DSM, and weigh biological, cognitive, behavioral, sociocultural, and developmental explanations against each other. Those skills apply in human resources, management, social services, and customer-facing roles where understanding stress, behavior, and distress matters. At DSU, the PSY-305 credit can count toward the Associate of Arts: Business Administration, the Bachelor of Business Administration, or the Bachelor of Arts: Psychology, depending on how your degree plan is set up.
After you finish Abnormal Psychology, UPI Study sends your transcript to Dunlap-Stone University. DSU's registrar reviews it and applies the course as PSY-305 – Abnormal Psychology, which is a named course equivalency rather than a general or elective credit placeholder. That means the credit lands in a specific catalog course your degree audit can track directly. Transfer credit at DSU is limited to 90 credits (75%) of your undergraduate degree, so the 3 credits from this course count against that ceiling along with any other transferred coursework.
This course suits students who want a psychology-based credit that DSU recognizes by name, not just as general elective credit, and who plan to apply it toward a degree there. Working adults fitting coursework around jobs and family, students finishing a degree, and those changing careers into fields that involve people will likely find the self-paced format useful. Because transfer credit at DSU is capped at 90 credits (75%) of a degree, the course is most useful to students who still have coursework to complete there. It is not a good fit for anyone who needs live instruction, a classroom schedule, or a course that will be taken for a grade the DSU transcript must reflect in person.
Dunlap-Stone University recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the DSU course, general education category or elective credit Appendix 1 assigns it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at DSU in good standing and meet course and program requirements. DSU is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Dunlap-Stone University.
