Savings estimate = credits × $475, DSU's undergraduate rate of $1,425 per 3-credit course (2026-2027 Academic Catalog). Under the articulation agreement DSU does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to DSU's registrar review and policy.
Business Essentials is an introductory course that explains how businesses work and why they make the decisions they do. It covers core ideas such as supply and demand, business ownership, leadership, operations, ethics, and how companies respond to customers, workers, competitors, and government policy.
Business Essentials is a self-paced online course built around video lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a final exam. Your grade is weighted evenly across four parts: 25% Attendance, 25% Quizzes, 25% Assignments, and 25% Final Exam. Completing the course produces transcript credit that Dunlap-Stone University recognizes as BUS-102 – Intro to Business.
The course covers supply and demand, opportunity cost, cost structures, and how firms respond to customers, competitors, and government policy, which are the same questions people face when they manage a budget, a small business, or a team. At DSU, this material counts as BUS-102 – Intro to Business, so it carries into the Associate of Arts: Business Administration and the Bachelor of Business Administration. It also gives useful economic context to students in the Bachelor of Arts: Psychology who want to understand consumer decision-making.
After you finish Business Essentials, the official transcript is sent to Dunlap-Stone University. DSU's registrar applies the credit as BUS-102 – Intro to Business, a named course equivalency, which is the strongest form of transfer recognition the university gives. Because the credit maps to a specific catalog course, you can check it directly against your requirements in programs such as the Associate of Arts: Business Administration, the Bachelor of Business Administration, or the Bachelor of Arts: Psychology. Transfer credit from all sources is limited to 90 credits, so this course counts against that total.
This course suits working adults who want a DSU degree and need to shorten the remaining coursework, degree-finishers who have a gap in business credits, and career changers who want a foundation in how companies operate. It also makes sense for cost-conscious students, since credit recognized as BUS-102 is credit you do not have to pay DSU's $475 per-credit rate to earn. Transfer credit at DSU is capped at 90 credits, or 75% of a degree, so students close to that ceiling should confirm how much room remains before enrolling. It is not the right choice for students who need a live, scheduled classroom or who want instructor-led discussion as part of the course.
Dunlap-Stone University recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the DSU course, general education category or elective credit Appendix 1 assigns it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at DSU in good standing and meet course and program requirements. DSU is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Dunlap-Stone University.
