Savings estimate = credits × $475, DSU's undergraduate rate of $1,425 per 3-credit course (2026-2027 Academic Catalog). Under the articulation agreement DSU does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to DSU's registrar review and policy.
Business Law is the study of the legal rules that affect how businesses are formed, operated, and managed. It covers topics like contracts, torts, court procedures, government regulation, employment issues, and the legal responsibilities of business owners and managers. In simple terms, it helps you understand what businesses can do, what they must do, and what happens when legal problems arise.
You work through the course online at your own pace, watching video lessons on contracts, torts, regulation, and employment law, then completing quizzes and a written assignment. Your final grade is weighted 20% Quizzes, 30% Assignments, and 50% Final Exam. Once the completed course is recorded on your transcript and sent to Dunlap-Stone University, DSU recognizes it as BUS-440 – Business Law.
Business Law teaches you to read contracts and statutes closely and to spot where a business decision creates legal exposure, skills that apply in management, human resources, and small-business ownership. At DSU, the credit lands as BUS-440 – Business Law, so it fits directly into the Associate of Arts: Business Administration and the Bachelor of Business Administration. Students in the Bachelor of Arts: Psychology can also use it, since DSU recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees.
After you finish the course, your transcript is sent to Dunlap-Stone University. The DSU registrar reviews the record and applies BUS-440 – Business Law under the signed articulation agreement. Because this is a named equivalency, the credit appears as a specific course on your DSU record and degree plan. Transfer credit at DSU may total up to 90 credits, which is 75% of the degree, so plan your remaining coursework with that ceiling in mind.
This course suits people who already have some college credit and want to finish a DSU degree without repeating material they can complete online, including working adults fitting study around a job and students in the final stretch of a degree. Because DSU maps it to a named equivalency, BUS-440 is a direct match and not a guess at which elective it might count for. Transfer credit is capped at 90 credits (75%), so it works best as one part of a larger plan. It is not a good fit if you need a live classroom, scheduled meetings, or an instructor you can see in person, or if you only want a broad overview of business without any legal focus.
Dunlap-Stone University recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the DSU course, general education category or elective credit Appendix 1 assigns it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at DSU in good standing and meet course and program requirements. DSU is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
