Educational Psychology is the study of how people learn and how teaching, motivation, memory, and development affect that process. It looks at what happens in the mind and behavior of learners, and how educators can use that knowledge to support learning in schools and other settings.
You complete Educational Psychology (Psychology 120, 3 credits) as a self-paced online course with video lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a final exam. Your grade is weighted 25% attendance, 25% quizzes, 25% assignments, and 25% final exam. Once you pass, the transcript entry for Psychology 120 is what Dunlap-Stone University reviews, and DSU recognizes it as PSY-405 – Educational Psychology under the articulation agreement.
The course covers how memory, problem-solving, motivation, and development shape learning, and how educators use that knowledge in practice. Those skills carry into managing teams, training staff, and explaining how people pick up new work. Within DSU, the credit can count toward the Associate of Arts: Business Administration, the Bachelor of Business Administration, or the Bachelor of Arts: Psychology, depending on how your degree plan places it.
After you finish the course, request that UPI Study send your transcript to Dunlap-Stone University. DSU's registrar reviews it and applies the credit as PSY-405 – Educational Psychology. Because this is a named course equivalency, the credit appears against a specific course code in your DSU record, which makes it easier to check against your degree plan. Your total transfer credit at DSU may not exceed 90 credits (75%) across all eligible courses.
This course suits people who want to finish a DSU degree at lower cost, such as adults returning to school, students close to completing a degree, or people switching careers who need a psychology-related credit. Because DSU recognizes it as the named equivalency PSY-405 – Educational Psychology, it counts as a specific catalog course rather than a general elective, and you can apply up to 90 credits (75%) of transfer work toward your degree. It is not the right choice if you need credit that DSU would not accept under its articulation agreement, or if you have already used most of your transfer allowance on other courses.
Dunlap-Stone University recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the DSU course, general education category or elective credit Appendix 1 assigns it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at DSU in good standing and meet course and program requirements. DSU is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
