Savings estimate = credits × $475, DSU's undergraduate rate of $1,425 per 3-credit course (2026-2027 Academic Catalog). Under the articulation agreement DSU does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to DSU's registrar review and policy.
Ethics in Technology looks at how computers, data, networks, and digital systems affect people, businesses, and society. It covers both the technical side of cybersecurity and the ethical and legal questions that come with privacy, cybercrime, data use, and emerging technologies like AI and IoT.
Ethics in Technology is a self-paced online course built on video lessons, quizzes, an assignment, and a final exam. Your grade is weighted evenly across four parts: 25% Attendance, 25% Quizzes, 25% Assignments, and 25% Final Exam. When you finish and the 3 credits appear on your transcript, Dunlap-Stone University reviews that record and awards the course as General Education Technology, the gen-ed equivalency it carries at DSU.
The course covers data breaches, phishing and social engineering, encryption, privacy law, and the ethical questions raised by AI and IoT. Those topics come up in most jobs that handle customer or employee information, from retail and healthcare to management roles. At DSU, the credit meets a general-education requirement in programs such as Associate of Arts: Business Administration, Bachelor of Business Administration, and Bachelor of Arts: Psychology, so you can use the material in your career without giving up a major-coursework slot to get it.
After you finish the course, the transcript is sent to Dunlap-Stone University. DSU's registrar applies General Education Technology, the equivalency Appendix 1 assigns to this course under the signed articulation agreement. In practice, that credit satisfies a general-education requirement in your degree plan. Transfer credit at DSU is capped at 90 credits (75%), so this course counts toward that limit alongside any other transfer work you bring in.
This course suits working adults who want a technology-focused gen-ed credit they can finish on their own schedule, degree-finishers who need one more general-education requirement to close out a DSU degree, and cost-conscious students who want to reduce what they pay at DSU's $475 per-credit rate. Because DSU accepts up to 90 credits (75%) in transfer, you will still complete the remaining portion of your degree at DSU. It is a poor fit if your DSU degree plan calls for a hands-on programming or networking lab, or if you want a technical certification in cybersecurity; the course emphasizes concepts, analysis, and legal frameworks more than tool-based practice.
Dunlap-Stone University recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the DSU course, general education category or elective credit Appendix 1 assigns it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at DSU in good standing and meet course and program requirements. DSU is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
