Savings estimate = credits × $475, DSU's undergraduate rate of $1,425 per 3-credit course (2026-2027 Academic Catalog). Under the articulation agreement DSU does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to DSU's registrar review and policy.
Introduction to JavaScript is a beginner course in programming for the web. It covers the basics of HTML and CSS as they relate to JavaScript, then moves into variables, operators, conditionals, loops, functions, objects, data structures, the Document Object Model (DOM), and form handling. In simple terms, it teaches how websites can respond to user actions and change on the page.
The course is self-paced and online, built from video lessons with quizzes, assignments, and a final exam. Grades are weighted 20% quizzes, 30% assignments, and 50% final exam, so the exam carries the most weight. Once you complete the course, the 3 credits appear on your transcript, and DSU recognizes that entry as General Education Technology.
The course covers variables, conditionals, loops, functions, the Document Object Model, and form handling, which are the skills behind interactive web pages and the online forms that many organizations use. At DSU, the 3 credits fill a general-education technology slot inside programs such as the Associate of Arts: Business Administration, the Bachelor of Business Administration, or the Bachelor of Arts: Psychology. Beyond the degree requirement, you come away able to read small scripts, make simple changes, and explain how a page responds to user input.
After you finish the course, your transcript is sent to Dunlap-Stone University, and DSU's registrar applies General Education Technology to your record. That equivalency satisfies a general-education requirement, so it reduces the requirements remaining in your degree plan and does not count as a major elective. DSU caps transfer credit at 90 credits, so track this course alongside any other transfer work as you plan your schedule. Review your degree audit once the credit posts to confirm how it appears in your program.
This course suits working adults and career changers who want a technology credit that transfers toward a DSU degree, and students near the end of a degree who still need a general-education technology requirement. Because DSU accepts transfer credit for up to 90 credits (75%) of a degree, this course uses a small part of that allowance, and at $475 per credit the 3 credits equal $1,425 at DSU's rate. It is not a good fit for students who need a full programming sequence or advanced JavaScript, since this is a beginner course that stays with fundamentals.
Dunlap-Stone University recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the DSU course, general education category or elective credit Appendix 1 assigns it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at DSU in good standing and meet course and program requirements. DSU is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
