Savings estimate = credits × $475, DSU's undergraduate rate of $1,425 per 3-credit course (2026-2027 Academic Catalog). Under the articulation agreement DSU does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to DSU's registrar review and policy.
Principles of Philosophy introduces the basic questions philosophers ask about knowledge, reality, morality, religion, and human freedom. It also shows how to read arguments carefully, spot weak reasoning, and compare different ways of thinking about the same issue. In a course like this, you study both classic ideas and the methods used to examine them.
Principles of Philosophy is a self-paced online course built from video lessons, quizzes, an assignment, and a final exam. Your grade is weighted 20% quizzes, 30% assignments, and 50% final exam, so the exam counts for the most. When you complete the course, the resulting transcript credit is what Dunlap-Stone University recognizes as General Education Humanities.
The course trains you to read an argument closely, identify its assumptions, and see where its reasoning breaks down. Those habits carry over to writing reports, evaluating proposals, and weighing competing views at work or in daily decisions. At Dunlap-Stone, the credit counts toward the humanities general-education requirement in programs such as Associate of Arts: Business Administration, Bachelor of Business Administration, and Bachelor of Arts: Psychology.
After you finish the course, UPI Study sends your transcript to Dunlap-Stone University. The DSU registrar then applies the General Education Humanities equivalency to your record, and that credit satisfies a gen-ed requirement in your degree plan. Transfer credit at DSU is capped at 90 credits, which is 75% of the degree, so this course counts toward that ceiling along with any other transfer work. Confirm with your DSU advisor how the credit fits your specific program before you enroll.
This course suits adults finishing a Dunlap-Stone degree who need a humanities general-education credit, career changers who want a lower-cost way to meet a degree requirement, and students watching tuition closely. Because DSU recognizes the course as General Education Humanities and transfer credit is capped at 90 credits (75%), it works best for someone whose remaining requirements include that category. It is not a good fit for a student who needs a course in a different category, such as an elective or a specialized major course that this equivalency does not cover, or for someone who wants a live, instructor-paced class.
Dunlap-Stone University recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the DSU course, general education category or elective credit Appendix 1 assigns it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at DSU in good standing and meet course and program requirements. DSU is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Dunlap-Stone University.
