Savings estimate = credits × $475, DSU's undergraduate rate of $1,425 per 3-credit course (2026-2027 Academic Catalog). Under the articulation agreement DSU does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to DSU's registrar review and policy.
Programming in C is an introductory computer science course focused on writing programs in the C language, one of the foundational languages used to understand how software works at a low level. Students learn how to build programs with variables, conditions, loops, functions, arrays, pointers, and basic memory management, along with the ANSI C coding standards used in many development environments.
Programming in C is a 3-credit, self-paced online course built around video lessons, quizzes, an assignment, and a final exam. Your grade is weighted equally across four parts: 25% Attendance, 25% Quizzes, 25% Assignments, and 25% Final Exam. When you complete the course, the resulting transcript credit is what Dunlap-Stone University recognizes as General Education Technology.
Working through pointers, memory management, and linked lists gives you a practical view of how software runs beneath the tools you use every day, which helps in IT, systems, and data-related work. At DSU, the credit satisfies a general-education requirement, so it can count toward the Associate of Arts: Business Administration, the Bachelor of Business Administration, or the Bachelor of Arts: Psychology. That frees room in your schedule for courses directly tied to your major.
After you finish, UPI Study sends your transcript to Dunlap-Stone University. DSU's registrar then applies the articulation equivalency, recording Programming in C as General Education Technology. That designation satisfies a gen-ed requirement in your degree plan. DSU allows up to 90 credits (75%) to transfer in total, so check with an advisor to see how this course combines with any other transfer credit you bring in.
This course suits students who want a technology credit without paying DSU's $475 per-credit rate for an equivalent class, including working adults finishing a degree and people changing careers who want a hands-on look at programming. DSU accepts up to 90 credits (75%) from transfer, and this 3-credit course uses only a small part of that allowance. It is not a good fit for anyone who needs live, instructor-paced class meetings or who expects an introductory C course to prepare them for advanced software development on its own.
Dunlap-Stone University recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the DSU course, general education category or elective credit Appendix 1 assigns it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at DSU in good standing and meet course and program requirements. DSU is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Dunlap-Stone University.
