Savings estimate = credits × $475, DSU's undergraduate rate of $1,425 per 3-credit course (2026-2027 Academic Catalog). Under the articulation agreement DSU does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to DSU's registrar review and policy.
Current Trends in Computer Science and IT is a broad introduction to how modern information technology is used in organizations. It covers both the technical side, such as databases, SQL, application design, and data analytics, and the managerial side, such as IT leadership, decision support systems, and how technology supports business strategy. The course also introduces newer areas like artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT, big data, and blockchain, with attention to their practical uses and limitations.
The course is self-paced and online, so you work through video lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a final exam on your own schedule. Your grade is weighted equally across attendance, quizzes, assignments, and the final exam, at 25% each. When you complete the course, the transcript credit it produces is what Dunlap-Stone University recognizes as General Education Technology.
The course covers databases and SQL, application design, data analytics, IT leadership, and decision support systems, which show up in everyday work whether you manage a team, read a performance report, or evaluate a new software tool. At DSU, the 3 credits carry a General Education Technology designation and can be applied within undergraduate degrees such as the Associate of Arts: Business Administration, the Bachelor of Business Administration, or the Bachelor of Arts: Psychology. For business-track students, the managerial content connects directly to how technology supports strategy and decisions.
After you finish the course, your transcript is sent from UPI Study, an active transfer partner, to Dunlap-Stone University. DSU's registrar then applies the General Education Technology equivalency under the articulation agreement, following the course mapping in Appendix 1. That recognition means the credit can satisfy a general-education requirement in your DSU degree plan rather than counting as a general elective. Transfer credit from all sources is limited to 90 credits, or 75% of the degree, so plan your remaining coursework with that ceiling in mind.
This course suits adults returning to finish a DSU degree, people changing careers who need a working understanding of how organizations use IT, and cost-conscious students who want to fill a technology gen-ed requirement at $475 per credit. Because DSU recognizes it as General Education Technology, it satisfies a gen-ed slot rather than a technical or major-specific one, so it is not the right choice if you need hands-on programming. Transfer credit is capped at 90 credits (75%), so students who are already close to that ceiling should confirm how much room remains before enrolling.
Dunlap-Stone University recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the DSU course, general education category or elective credit Appendix 1 assigns it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at DSU in good standing and meet course and program requirements. DSU is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Dunlap-Stone University.
