Savings estimate uses Gracelyn University's $88.80/credit undergraduate tuition (2026-2027 catalog; $44 with Gracelyn's institutional scholarship). Gracelyn accepts up to 60 transfer credits into a bachelor's and 30 into an associate degree, for courses with a C- or better that fit the program. Final credit awards are determined by Gracelyn University.
Abnormal Psychology is the study of patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be distressing, disruptive, or outside typical functioning, and how psychologists understand and respond to them. It looks at how mental disorders are defined, how they are diagnosed using systems like the DSM, and what biological, psychological, and social factors may contribute to them.
Abnormal Psychology (Psychology 180) is a self-paced online course built on video lessons, with grades weighted 20% quizzes, 30% assignment, and 50% final exam. Completing all components produces the transcript credit that Gracelyn recognizes as PSYC 2301 – General Psychology or PSYC 2314 – Lifespan Growth & Development. Because the final exam carries half the grade, it helps to keep the quizzes and assignment on schedule so the exam is not the only thing you are reviewing.
The course teaches how psychological disorders are defined and diagnosed, including the DSM criteria, and how biological, cognitive, behavioral, sociocultural, and developmental factors contribute to them. Those skills apply to work in human services, education, and community settings, where reading a situation carefully matters. At Gracelyn, the credit has to fit the program, so its value in your plan depends on whether it lands in a requirement for the Associate of Science in Transformational Education (ATED) or the Bachelor of Science in Transformational Education (BTED).
Once you finish, your transcript goes to Gracelyn, and the registrar applies the credit as PSYC 2301 – General Psychology or PSYC 2314 – Lifespan Growth & Development. That named recognition means the credit fills a specific catalog course in your degree plan, not a general elective slot. Transfer credit requires a grade of C- or better and must fit your program. Gracelyn accepts up to 60 transfer credits, which is 50% of the degree, and this 3-credit course counts toward that limit.
This course suits students who already have some college credit and want to finish a Gracelyn degree without paying full price for a general psychology course they could transfer in, including working adults returning to school and people changing careers. Because the course maps to PSYC 2301 or PSYC 2314, it is most useful when one of those courses is an open requirement in your plan. It is not the right choice if you need a course outside those two equivalencies or if you expect more than 60 transfer credits to count, since transfer is capped at 60 credits (50%). It also will not count if you earn less than a C-.
Gracelyn University is DEAC-accredited and names the Gracelyn course for each UPI Study course on its list, pathway by pathway. Transfer credit needs the equivalent of a C- or better and must fit the program.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Final credit awards are determined solely by the receiving university's registrar.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Gracelyn University.
