Savings = credits × $136 (Nexford BBA total $16,320 ÷ 120 credits, US/Canada/China region, from Nexford University Catalog 2026). Nexford credit awards are subject to Nexford's transfer credit evaluation per its institutional policies. Rates may vary by region — Group 2 (Finland/Iceland) is $112/cr, Group 3 (Kenya/Egypt/Philippines/Thailand/Indonesia) $74/cr, Group 4 (Nigeria/Ghana) $64/cr.
Intro to Biology 1 is an introduction to how living things are built, how they work, and how scientists study them. It covers the basic chemistry of life, cells, energy use, genetics, and the processes that allow organisms to grow, reproduce, and respond to their environment.
Intro to Biology 1 is a self-paced online course with video lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a final exam. The grade is based on 20% quizzes, 30% assignments, and 50% the final exam, so students can see exactly how their work is weighted before they finish. When the course is completed and the transcript is issued, Nexford University can review it for transfer as a Natural and Physical Science Elective.
The course builds a basic understanding of cells, genetics, energy use, and the scientific method, which is useful in any setting where people need to read evidence carefully and understand how biological systems work. At Nexford, that learning can support progress in degree plans such as the Associate of Applied Science or Bachelor of Business Administration because the credit applies as a Natural and Physical Science Elective rather than sitting outside the general-education area. It can also help students make sense of health, technology, and environmental topics they encounter in daily life and at work.
After you complete Intro to Biology 1, the transcript can be sent for Nexford University to review through its free, no-obligation transfer credit evaluation. Nexford's registrar applies the credit as a Natural and Physical Science Elective when it matches the general-education requirement, which helps students move that requirement out of the way in programs such as the Associate of Applied Science or Bachelor of Business Administration. Because Nexford allows up to 90 transfer credits, or 75% of an undergraduate program, this course can count toward the transfer total while still leaving room for the rest of the degree. Nexford is DEAC-accredited, and the transfer decision is made within its published evaluation process.
This course is a good fit for students planning to transfer to Nexford who want a general-education science credit that can count as a Natural and Physical Science Elective. It is often useful for adults finishing a degree, students changing direction, or anyone trying to use the 75% transfer limit efficiently within Nexford's 90-credit maximum. It is not the best choice for someone who needs a lab-intensive biology sequence or a course that is already specialized for a particular major.
Nexford University is DEAC-accredited and offers a free, no-obligation transfer credit evaluation. Its flexible policy lets you transfer up to 75% of an undergraduate program toward your degree.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Final credit awards are determined solely by the receiving university's registrar.
