Savings estimate compares Post University's $629/credit online undergraduate rate against UPI Study course pricing. Post requires a 73% grade to accept a UPI course; UPI credit applies to General Education requirements only (not Major, Core, Concentration, or Minor). Maximum UPI transfer: 15 credits into an associate's, 30 into a bachelor's. Final credit awards are determined solely by Post University's registrar.
Intro to Biology 1 is an introduction to how living things are built, how they work, and how scientists study them. It covers the basic chemistry of life, cells, energy use, genetics, and the processes that allow organisms to grow, reproduce, and respond to their environment.
Intro to Biology 1 is a self-paced online course built around video lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a final exam, with grading set at 20% Quizzes, 30% Assignments, and 50% Final Exam. When you complete the course and the transcript is issued, Post can recognize it as BIO 143 – General Biology I, which is a named course equivalency rather than a generic elective.
This course gives you the biology foundation used in Post programs such as the Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science, where BIO 143 – General Biology I can support the degree plan directly. The material on cells, genetics, energy use, and the scientific method is useful beyond class because it helps you understand health topics, environmental issues, and basic biological technologies with more confidence.
After you finish the course, the transcript is sent for review and Post University can apply it as BIO 143 – General Biology I if the grade meets the transfer standard of 73% (C) or better. That named recognition matters because it maps to a specific course in Post's catalog, so it can sit in the degree plan for programs such as the Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science instead of being treated only as general elective credit. Post is NECHE-accredited and accepts UPI Study's ACE- and NCCRS-recommended courses for General Education transfer credit. Even so, the total transfer limit at Post is up to 30 credits, or 25% of the degree.
This is a practical option for students who want to earn biology credit before enrolling at Post, especially if they are working around a schedule and need a course that can be completed independently. It also fits students who want a specific match to BIO 143 – General Biology I and need to stay within Post's transfer limit of up to 30 credits. It is not a good fit if you need more than 30 transfer credits at Post or if your plan requires a different biology course than the BIO 143 equivalency.
Post University is NECHE-accredited and accepts UPI Study's ACE & NCCRS-recommended courses for General Education transfer credit. A 73% (C) grade or better is required for a course to transfer.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Final credit awards are determined solely by the receiving university's registrar.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Post University.
