Principles of Management is the study of how organizations are planned, organized, led, and improved. It introduces the work managers do, the difference between management and leadership, and the main ideas that have shaped modern business practice. Students also learn how teams, structure, and change affect how an organization performs.
Principles of Management is a self-paced online course built around video lessons, quizzes, an assignment, and a final exam. Your grade combines four equal parts: 25% attendance, 25% quizzes, 25% assignments, and 25% final exam. When you complete the course and the resulting transcript credit is sent to Thomas Edison State University, TESU recognizes it as MAN-2100 – Principles of Management through a named course equivalency.
The course covers how managers plan, organize, lead, and guide change, and how they tell management apart from leadership. It also introduces the theories of Weber, Taylor, and Fayol, plus team motivation and conflict resolution. At TESU, MAN-2100 can count toward Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts plans, so the same material supports both a degree and the day-to-day work of supervising people or running projects.
After you finish the course, the completed transcript is sent to Thomas Edison State University. TESU's registrar reviews it and applies the credit as MAN-2100 – Principles of Management, since the course is recognized through a named equivalency. In your degree plan, that means the credit is posted to a specific catalog course rather than held as general elective credit. TESU accepts up to 90 transfer credits, which is 75% of a degree, so this course counts within that limit alongside any other transferred credits.
This course suits people who want a management foundation and a degree credit without paying for a full classroom course, such as working adults, students close to finishing a degree, and those changing careers into management or operations. Because TESU recognizes it as a named equivalency and accepts up to 90 credits (75%) in transfer, it can take a real place in a degree plan. It is not a good fit for anyone who needs live instruction or direct contact with an instructor, or who expects the credit to satisfy a requirement that falls outside the MAN-2100 equivalency.
Thomas Edison State University has one of the most flexible transfer policies in the country and accepts ACE & NCCRS credit recommendations. With a four-year institution's credits, you can fulfill all degree requirements except two required TESU courses.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Final credit awards are determined solely by the receiving university's registrar.
