Savings = credits × $390 (UMT's published tuition per credit hour; $250 for military, veteran and first-responder students; umtweb.edu, 13 Oct 2026). Actual savings vary by program and your UPI Study plan.
Calculus 1 is the study of change and accumulation. It introduces the idea of a limit, then uses limits to define derivatives and integrals, which are tools for measuring rates of change, slopes, area, and total amount in real situations.
The course is self-paced and online, with video lessons that introduce limits and then build toward derivatives and integrals. Your grade is split evenly across attendance, quizzes, assignments, and a final exam, with each counting 25%. Once you complete the course and the transcript is issued, that credit can be recognized at UMT as MATH 210 – Finite Mathematics and Calculus I.
Calculus 1 gives you a working method for measuring how quantities change and how totals build up over time. In business settings, that shows up in questions about marginal cost, growth rates, and optimizing pricing or production. Within UMT's Associate of Business Administration or Bachelor of Business Administration, the equivalency means you can put that quantitative background toward your degree rather than repeating the material.
After you finish the course, the transcript is sent to UMT. UMT's Office of Academic Affairs reviews the credit against UMT course outcomes, with faculty or subject-matter experts involved, and the recognized equivalent is MATH 210 – Finite Mathematics and Calculus I. Because it is a named course equivalency rather than a general elective, it maps directly to a catalog course, so you should check with your UMT advisor how it fits your specific degree plan. UMT accepts up to 90 credits (75%) through transfer, so this credit counts toward that ceiling.
This path suits people who already know they are heading to UMT and want to earn quantitative credit before enrolling, such as working adults, students finishing a degree, or career changers who need a calculus credit on record. Because the equivalency is recognized as MATH 210 and transfer is capped at 90 credits (75%) of a degree, this course is most useful when you need that specific credit to fill a gap in your plan. It is not a good fit if you are starting calculus from the beginning and have no algebra or precalculus background, or if you have no plans to attend UMT.
UMT's Office of Academic Affairs evaluates transfer credit and prior learning against UMT course outcomes, with review by faculty or subject-matter experts. The figures below are from UMT's 2026-27 University Catalog.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Final credit awards are determined by UMT's Office of Academic Affairs.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 4 credits to University of Management and Technology.
