Calculus 2 is the next step after introductory calculus, focused on techniques for evaluating integrals and using them to solve more advanced problems. It also introduces sequences, infinite series, and power series, which are ways of representing and approximating functions. In practical terms, the course asks you to choose the right method for a problem and explain why it works.
Calculus 2 is a self-paced online course built from video lessons, with quizzes, assignments, and a final exam. Your grade is weighted 25% attendance, 25% quizzes, 25% assignments, and 25% final exam. Passing produces a 4-credit transcript entry, which UMT's Office of Academic Affairs reviews against its own course outcomes, with faculty or subject-matter expert input, before recognizing it as MATH 211 – Finite Mathematics and Calculus II.
The course trains you to pick a solution method and justify it, whether that means choosing a substitution, an integration technique, or a series test. Those habits carry into work that depends on modeling change, estimating quantities, and checking how accurate an estimate is. At UMT, the credit counts toward your degree plan in programs such as the Associate of Business Administration or the Bachelor of Business Administration, so the coursework you finish here moves you forward in a business degree rather than sitting outside it.
After you finish Calculus 2, the institution that delivered the course sends your official transcript to UMT. UMT's registrar then applies the course to MATH 211 – Finite Mathematics and Calculus II. Because this is a named course equivalency, the credit maps to a specific catalog course rather than a general elective, which means it can fill that requirement directly in your UMT degree plan. Up to 90 credits (75%) may transfer to UMT in total, so check how this course fits alongside any other transfer credit you bring in.
This route suits people who already have introductory calculus behind them and want to finish a UMT degree without repeating that material at full tuition. Working adults, students closing out a degree, and career changers who need a quantitative credit on a budget tend to fit well. At $390 per credit, the 4-credit course comes to $1,560 at UMT's rate, so a transfer credit that replaces a paid course is a real saving. It is not a good fit for anyone who needs live, scheduled classes, and it will not help if your plan at UMT already requires more than the 90-credit transfer ceiling would allow.
UMT's Office of Academic Affairs evaluates transfer credit and prior learning against UMT course outcomes, with review by faculty or subject-matter experts. The figures below are from UMT's 2026-27 University Catalog.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Final credit awards are determined by UMT's Office of Academic Affairs.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 4 credits to University of Management and Technology.
