Savings estimate = credits × $360, Woodmont's published undergraduate per-credit tuition (new.woodmontcollege.edu/tuition-and-fees). Under the articulation agreement Woodmont does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to Woodmont's review and policy.
Advanced Technical Writing is the study of how to explain information clearly in professional settings. It focuses on writing that helps people do something, understand a process, or make a decision, such as emails, memos, instructions, reports, proposals, resumes, and cover letters. The course also covers how to write for different audiences and how to handle ethical and legal issues in communication.
Advanced Technical Writing is a self-paced online course built on video lessons, with quizzes and an assignment along the way and a final exam at the end. Your grade is weighted 20% quizzes, 30% assignments, and 50% final exam, so the exam carries the most weight. Once you complete the course and earn the transcript credit, Woodmont recognizes it as English Writing Requirement (Impact & Expression).
The course teaches you to write emails, memos, instructions, reports, proposals, resumes, and cover letters so that readers can act on them without follow-up questions. At Woodmont, the credit fills a general-education slot, so it fits alongside the writing skills you will use in a BS in Technology program for project documentation, a BS in Business program for proposals and memos, or a BS in Psychology program for clear, audience-aware reporting. Those skills stay useful after the degree is finished.
After you finish Advanced Technical Writing, your UPI Study transcript is sent to Woodmont College. Woodmont's registrar then applies the course as English Writing Requirement (Impact & Expression), a general-education equivalency, which means it satisfies a gen-ed requirement in your degree plan. This applies regardless of whether you are enrolled in the BS in Technology, BS in Business, or BS in Psychology program. Woodmont accepts up to 84 transfer credits, which is 70% of the degree, and this course counts toward that limit.
This course suits students who already have some college credit and want to finish a Woodmont degree without repeating a writing requirement. Working adults, career changers, and cost-conscious students who write for their jobs will get the most practical use from it, and the transferred credit avoids the $1,080 that a 3-credit course would cost at Woodmont's $360-per-credit rate. It is not a good fit for students who need a live instructor, a fixed weekly class meeting, or a course that does not involve writing for workplace audiences.
Woodmont College recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the Woodmont course, general education requirement or general elective Woodmont's equivalency sheets assign it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at Woodmont in good standing and meet course and program requirements. Woodmont is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Woodmont College.
