Business Law is the study of the legal rules that affect how businesses are formed, operated, and managed. It covers topics like contracts, torts, court procedures, government regulation, employment issues, and the legal responsibilities of business owners and managers. In simple terms, it helps you understand what businesses can do, what they must do, and what happens when legal problems arise.
Business 250 is a self-paced online course built on video lessons, with quizzes and an assignment along the way and a final exam at the end. Grades are weighted 20% quizzes, 30% assignments, and 50% final exam, so the exam carries the most weight. Once you complete the course, the transcript credit is recognized by Woodmont College as a General Elective, which counts toward total credit hours and elective requirements.
Business Law gives you working knowledge of contracts, workplace rights, and the legal duties that owners and managers carry, which comes up in many jobs. At Woodmont, the credit lands as a General Elective, so it can fill open elective slots in programs such as the BS in Business, BS in Technology, or BS in Psychology. A student in a technology or psychology track who understands contract terms or employment law is better prepared to recognize legal issues in a project or team setting.
After you finish Business 250 through UPI Study, your completed transcript is sent to Woodmont College, where the registrar applies the credit as a General Elective. That credit counts toward your total credit hours and elective requirements, whether you are pursuing the BS in Business, BS in Technology, or BS in Psychology. Transfer credit from UPI Study is capped at 84 credits, or 70% of the degree, so this course draws on that allowance. Map out your remaining hours against that ceiling before you enroll.
This course suits working adults finishing a Woodmont degree who need elective hours to close the gap, and career changers who want a structured look at business law without committing to a full major. Because it transfers as a General Elective, it fills elective requirements and total hours, so it works best when your open slots are electives rather than specific required courses. It is not the right choice for a student who needs a named Woodmont course to satisfy a major requirement.
Woodmont College recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the Woodmont course, general education requirement or general elective Woodmont's equivalency sheets assign it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at Woodmont in good standing and meet course and program requirements. Woodmont is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Woodmont College.
