Savings estimate = credits × $360, Woodmont's published undergraduate per-credit tuition (new.woodmontcollege.edu/tuition-and-fees). Under the articulation agreement Woodmont does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to Woodmont's review and policy.
Cybersecurity is the study of how to protect computers, networks, software, and data from unauthorized access, damage, and disruption. In this course, students learn the basic threats people and organizations face, such as malware, phishing, weak passwords, web attacks, and insecure systems, along with the methods used to reduce those risks.
Students complete the course online at their own pace, working through video lessons, then demonstrating understanding through quizzes and an assignment before sitting the final exam. Grades are weighted 20% Quizzes, 30% Assignments, and 50% Final Exam, and a passing result produces a transcript entry that Woodmont College recognizes as a General Elective.
The course covers malware, phishing, weak passwords, web attacks, and insecure systems, along with the controls used to reduce them, which applies directly to handling company data, customer records, and personal accounts. At Woodmont, the credit counts toward total hours and elective requirements in programs such as the BS in Technology, BS in Business, and BS in Psychology. The human-factors material, which addresses both error and malicious intent in security policy, is useful in management and policy roles across those fields.
After you complete Cybersecurity through UPI Study, your official transcript needs to be sent to Woodmont College's registrar. The registrar then applies the course as a General Elective under the articulation agreement between the two institutions. This means the 3 credits count toward your total hours and your elective requirements rather than a specific course in your program. Woodmont allows up to 84 credits (70%) to transfer, so this course uses part of that allowance, and your advisor can confirm how it fits your degree plan.
This course suits adults who are working toward a Woodmont degree and want to fill open elective space with a relevant, affordable option. Students who are close to finishing and need a few more elective hours will find it useful, as will anyone who has been asked to understand security risks at work. Because Woodmont recognizes it only as a General Elective, it will not satisfy a specific named course requirement, and students should plan around the 84-credit transfer ceiling before assuming how many transferred hours will fit.
Woodmont College recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the Woodmont course, general education requirement or general elective Woodmont's equivalency sheets assign it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at Woodmont in good standing and meet course and program requirements. Woodmont is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Woodmont College.
