Savings estimate = credits × $360, Woodmont's published undergraduate per-credit tuition (new.woodmontcollege.edu/tuition-and-fees). Under the articulation agreement Woodmont does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to Woodmont's review and policy.
Entrepreneurship is the study of how new business ideas are identified, shaped, and turned into workable ventures. It covers the mindset and practical steps involved in starting and growing a business, including market research, planning, financing, ethics, and communicating an idea clearly.
The course is self-paced and fully online. You work through the video lessons on your own schedule, then complete the quizzes and assignments and sit the final exam, with quizzes counting for 20%, assignments for 30%, and the final exam for 50% of the grade. Completing the course produces a UPI Study transcript entry, and that entry is what Woodmont College recognizes as a General Elective.
The course covers market research, business planning, financing, and ethics, which are the skills people use when they pitch a new idea, price a product, or decide how a venture should be structured. At Woodmont, the credit counts as a General Elective, so it can fill open elective slots in the BS in Business, BS in Technology, or BS in Psychology. Students in technology or psychology programs often find the planning and communication skills useful when they move toward founding a small practice or product team.
After you finish the course, UPI Study sends your transcript to Woodmont College. Woodmont's registrar then applies the General Elective equivalency to your record, and the credit counts toward your total credit hours and your elective requirements. Check your degree audit after the credit posts to confirm how it fits into your BS in Business, BS in Technology, or BS in Psychology plan. All transferred credit, including this course, is subject to Woodmont's transfer limit of 84 credits (70%).
This course suits working adults who want to add elective hours without repeating material they already know, degree-finishers who need a few more credits to reach their total, and career changers testing whether starting a business fits their goals. Cost-conscious students may also find it useful, since Woodmont's rate is $360 per credit. Because the credit is a General Elective and not a named requirement, it will not replace a specific required course in your major. It also will not make you qualified to give legal or tax advice, so anyone planning a real business should still consult a licensed accountant or attorney. Keep in mind that Woodmont accepts up to 84 credits (70%) in transfer, so plan your total transfer load with that ceiling in mind.
Woodmont College recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the Woodmont course, general education requirement or general elective Woodmont's equivalency sheets assign it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at Woodmont in good standing and meet course and program requirements. Woodmont is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
