Financial Management is the study of how organizations plan, use, and protect money. It covers how businesses read financial statements, decide whether an investment is worth making, choose between financing options, and manage risk so they can meet their goals. The course also introduces the financial system around the business, including markets, institutions, and the role of the financial manager.
Financial Management is a self-paced online course built around video lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a final exam, so you work through the material on your own timeline. Your grade is weighted equally across four parts: 25% Attendance, 25% Quizzes, 25% Assignments, and 25% Final Exam. Once the completed course appears on your UPI Study transcript, that 3-credit record is what Woodmont evaluates and recognizes as a General Elective.
Reading a balance sheet, checking whether a project's expected return justifies its risk, and weighing a loan against other ways to pay for something are skills that show up in most jobs and household budgets. At Woodmont, the 3 credits fill elective space in a BS in Business, where the vocabulary and ratio work connect directly to coursework. Students in a BS in Technology or BS in Psychology can use the same credit to meet elective hours while gaining practical financial literacy.
After you finish, your UPI Study transcript needs to be sent to Woodmont College's registrar. The registrar applies Financial Management as a General Elective, which counts toward total credit hours and elective requirements. For your degree plan, that means the 3 credits reduce the open elective hours remaining in programs such as the BS in Business, BS in Technology, or BS in Psychology. Keep in mind that Woodmont accepts up to 84 credits (70%) in transfer overall, so this course counts toward that ceiling along with any other transferred work.
This course suits students who want to reduce the number of paid courses left in a Woodmont degree, including adults returning to school, people changing careers, and anyone looking to manage tuition costs. Because Woodmont recognizes it as a General Elective, it fills open elective slots rather than a named requirement, so check your degree plan before assuming it replaces a specific course. Woodmont accepts up to 84 credits (70%) in transfer, so this course uses part of that allowance. It is not the right choice if you need a course Woodmont lists as a required major or general education course, or if you expect the subject covered in depth, since the course introduces the topic as an overview.
Woodmont College recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the Woodmont course, general education requirement or general elective Woodmont's equivalency sheets assign it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at Woodmont in good standing and meet course and program requirements. Woodmont is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Woodmont College.
