Savings estimate = credits × $360, Woodmont's published undergraduate per-credit tuition (new.woodmontcollege.edu/tuition-and-fees). Under the articulation agreement Woodmont does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to Woodmont's review and policy.
Fundamentals of Information Technology is an introduction to how computer systems support business work. It covers the basic parts of information systems, hardware and software, data and databases, networks, security, and how IT helps organizations make decisions and run processes. The course gives students a broad view of how computers, data, and business needs fit together.
You work through the course at your own pace in an online format, using video lessons, quizzes, an assignment, and a final exam. Quizzes count for 20% of the grade, assignments for 30%, and the final exam for 50%, so the exam carries the most weight. Completing the course produces a transcript entry that Woodmont College recognizes as Technology Requirement (Systems & Solutions), a general-education equivalency.
The course explains how hardware, data storage, operating systems, networks, and relational databases support business decisions, and the SQL work gives you a query skill that applies directly to reporting and analysis. At Woodmont, the credit satisfies a general-education requirement in its undergraduate degrees, including the BS in Technology, BS in Business, and BS in Psychology. A student in any of those programs can therefore use the material in a data-aware role without spending a full elective slot on it.
After you finish the course, your UPI Study transcript is sent to Woodmont College, and Woodmont's registrar applies it as Technology Requirement (Systems & Solutions). Because this equivalency is a general-education recognition, it counts toward a gen-ed requirement in your Woodmont degree plan rather than as a general elective. Transfer credit is limited to 84 credits (70%), so keep that ceiling in mind as you plan remaining coursework. Review your placement with a Woodmont advisor before registering for courses that depend on it.
This course fits students who want an online general-education credit and already have a Woodmont degree target, such as adults returning to finish a degree or people moving into business or technology work. Because Woodmont's rate is $360 per credit, a 3-credit course represents $1,080 in tuition at that rate, which makes it worth considering for students watching costs. Transfer credit is capped at 84 credits (70%), so the course should be planned alongside the rest of your transfer and residency requirements. It is less suited to students who need programming depth, since the outcomes center on systems concepts, data, and SQL queries rather than software development.
Woodmont College recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the Woodmont course, general education requirement or general elective Woodmont's equivalency sheets assign it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at Woodmont in good standing and meet course and program requirements. Woodmont is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Woodmont College.
