Savings estimate = credits × $360, Woodmont's published undergraduate per-credit tuition (new.woodmontcollege.edu/tuition-and-fees). Under the articulation agreement Woodmont does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to Woodmont's review and policy.
Principles of Finance is the study of how money is used, valued, and managed in business decisions. It covers how companies raise and spend capital, how to read financial statements, and how to judge whether an investment or project is worth pursuing. The course also introduces the basic tools used to compare future and present value, risk, and return.
The course is self-paced and online, built around video lessons that lead into quizzes and an assignment, then a final exam. Quizzes count for 20% of the grade, assignments for 30%, and the final exam for 50%, so the exam carries the most weight. Completing the course produces transcript credit that Woodmont recognizes as a General Elective, which counts toward total credit hours and elective requirements.
Principles of Finance teaches you to value money across time, compare investments with NPV and IRR, and read a company's financial statements. Those skills apply to budgeting decisions, evaluating business proposals, and understanding how organizations raise and spend money. At Woodmont, the credit fills an elective slot in programs such as the BS in Business, where the material connects most directly to coursework, and it can also count toward the BS in Technology or BS in Psychology degree plans.
After you finish the course, UPI Study sends your transcript to Woodmont College. Woodmont's registrar then applies the credit as a General Elective. That means the credit counts toward your total hours and elective requirements, not toward a named core course in your major. Woodmont accepts up to 84 transfer credits, which is 70% of the degree, so this course uses only a small part of that allowance.
This course suits working adults who want a credit that fits around a job schedule, degree-finishers who need a few remaining elective hours, and career changers who want a foundation in financial reasoning. Because Woodmont recognizes it as a General Elective, it helps most when your degree plan has open elective space. Cost-conscious students may also find it useful, since each transferred credit replaces a credit billed at Woodmont's $360 per-credit rate, within the 84-credit (70%) transfer limit. It is not a good fit if you need a specific required course in your major or a general education requirement, because this equivalency does not satisfy those slots.
Woodmont College recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the Woodmont course, general education requirement or general elective Woodmont's equivalency sheets assign it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at Woodmont in good standing and meet course and program requirements. Woodmont is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Woodmont College.
