Savings estimate = credits × $360, Woodmont's published undergraduate per-credit tuition (new.woodmontcollege.edu/tuition-and-fees). Under the articulation agreement Woodmont does not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Credit awards are subject to Woodmont's review and policy.
Software Engineering is the study of how software is planned, built, tested, and maintained in an organized way. It covers the methods used to turn a problem or set of requirements into a working program, including how teams gather needs, design the system, choose a development process, and check that the result works as intended.
Software Engineering (CS 301) is a self-paced online course built on video lessons, with quizzes that make up 20% of the grade, one assignment worth 30%, and a final exam worth 50%. Once you complete the course and the credit posts to your transcript, Woodmont College recognizes it as a General Elective, an elective equivalency that counts toward total credit hours and elective requirements.
The course trains you to break a vague problem into requirements, choose a development process, and test whether the result works, skills that carry over to any role that involves software, IT projects, or process improvement. At Woodmont, the credit can be applied within a BS in Technology, BS in Business, or BS in Psychology plan, so the same course can support a technical focus or a business or research track. Its emphasis on evaluating systems and designing customized methodologies is useful for anyone who manages or works alongside development teams.
After you finish the course, the transcript is sent to Woodmont College, and Woodmont's registrar applies it as a General Elective. That credit counts toward your total credit hours and your elective requirements, so check your degree plan to see how many elective slots remain open. Woodmont accepts up to 84 credits (70%) in transfer, which sets the ceiling for everything you bring in from UPI Study and other sources combined.
This course suits working adults who want to finish a Woodmont degree at lower cost, students closing out the last credits of a degree, and people switching into tech-adjacent work who need a structured overview of how software gets built. Because Woodmont counts it as an elective rather than a required course, it fills open elective slots and does not replace a specific requirement in your major. It is not a good fit if you need a particular required course for your program, or if you expect a programming-heavy class, since the material focuses on methods and process, and the final exam carries half the grade.
Woodmont College recognizes UPI Study courses for credit in its undergraduate degrees under the signed articulation agreement. Each course below has the Woodmont course, general education requirement or general elective Woodmont's equivalency sheets assign it.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Students must be enrolled at Woodmont in good standing and meet course and program requirements. Woodmont is solely responsible for how it recognizes UPI Study courses.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Woodmont College.
