Points are spent at UPI Study only; they are never cash and cannot be transferred. Signup points stop at $600 per account for life (the price of Lifetime access); points from purchases have no limit, but one order earns at most 60. A friend's first paid order earns; renewals of the same subscription do not. Orders with an affiliate code, under-18 accounts, a second account on the same device, and made-up accounts earn nothing. All remaining courses receive General Elective credit.
Does Crestpoint University charge tuition for UPI Study credits it recognizes?
No. Per Section C of the Articulation Agreement, Crestpoint University will not charge tuition for the UPI Study courses it recognizes as credit. Students pay only the UPI Study subscription fee to complete the courses. CPU awards the credit at no additional cost to the student.
Which psychology courses from UPI Study have named CPU codes at Crestpoint University?
Six psychology courses transfer with named CPU codes:
• PSY-101 — Introduction to Psychology (Psychology 110)
• PSY-340 — Research Methods in Psychology (Psychology 111)
• PSY-204 — Educational Psychology (Psychology 120)
• PSY-200 — Abnormal Psychology (Psychology 180)
• PSY-152 — Psychology of Personality (Psychology 300)
• PSY-315 — Social Psychology (Psychology 310)
Psychology of Diversity transfers as a General Elective.
What is the difference between ACE and NCCRS credit recommendations?
ACE (American Council on Education) evaluates non-traditional learning and recommends credit to colleges and universities. NCCRS (National College Credit Recommendation Service), operated by the New York State Education Department, does the same. Both are nationally recognized standards — the same evaluation system used by CLEP, DSST, and military training programs. UPI Study courses carry recommendations from one or both bodies. Per Section A of the CPU Articulation Agreement, CPU will only recognize UPI Study courses that carry valid ACE or NCCRS recommendations.
What computer science courses from UPI Study transfer to Crestpoint University?
All 22 UPI Study computer science courses transfer as General Elective credit toward Crestpoint University undergraduate programs under the May 2025 agreement. This includes Database Fundamentals, Fundamentals of IT, Introduction to JavaScript, Programming in Python, Introduction to Java, Cybersecurity, Introduction to AI, Network Security, Software Engineering, and many more. While these don't have named CPU codes, they count toward your degree's elective credit requirements.
Can I earn college credit without enrolling in a full degree program?
Yes. UPI Study allows you to take individual courses and earn ACE and NCCRS-recommended college credit completely independently — no university enrollment, no application, no admission process required. Complete the courses, get your official transcript, then submit it to Crestpoint University for credit evaluation when you're ready to enroll.
How do I check which UPI Study courses transfer to Crestpoint University?
Use the equivalency table on this page. Search by course name, subject area, or CPU course code (e.g. ECO-101, PSY-101, BUS-401) to find exact matches. Courses showing a specific CPU code transfer directly to that requirement. Courses listed as General Electives count toward your elective credit requirements. When in doubt, book a call with our team — we'll walk you through your specific degree plan.
How long does the CPU–UPI Study Articulation Agreement last?
The agreement signed on May 19, 2025 is in effect for three years and automatically renews for successive one-year terms unless either party provides 60 days written notice before the end of any term. Either party may also terminate the agreement with or without cause after 60 days written notice to the other party.
How many credits can I earn through UPI Study toward Crestpoint University?
UPI Study offers up to 90 ACE and NCCRS-recommended credits — the equivalent of two full years of traditional college. Combined with other ACE/NCCRS sources like CLEP, DSST, or military training, many students build 70–90+ total credits before enrolling. Crestpoint University's standard academic policies on maximum transfer credit per program apply — contact the CPU registrar for specifics.
How does UPI Study compare to taking courses at a community college?
Community college typically costs $300–$600 per credit hour, requires fixed class schedules, and involves semester deadlines. UPI Study offers ACE & NCCRS-recommended credits from $42/month (US) or $250/course (international) with no deadlines, no fixed class times, and no campus required.
Can military students or first responders use UPI Study for Crestpoint University?
Yes — military students and first responders (police, fire, EMS) are some of our most active members. UPI Study credits use the same ACE and NCCRS standards as military training evaluations and can be stacked with existing military training credits on a single Excelsior OneTranscript. US citizens and military personnel have access to subscription plans starting from $89/month.
Is UPI Study a good option for adult learners returning to school at Crestpoint University?
It's one of the best options available. UPI Study is fully self-paced with no deadlines — adult learners with jobs and families can study whenever they have time, pause when they don't, and pick back up without penalty. Most adult learners complete 6–12 courses in their first year around their existing lives, building credits before ever paying Crestpoint University tuition.
What happens if I need to pause or cancel my UPI Study subscription?
You can pause or cancel your subscription at any time with no penalty and no questions asked. Credits you've already earned remain valid permanently. If you pause and return later, you pick up exactly where you left off.
What business management and leadership courses transfer with named CPU codes?
Five management and leadership courses have direct CPU code matches:
• BUS-101 — Principles of Management (Business 101)
• BUS-306 — Organizational Behavior (Business 206: Leadership and Organizational Behavior)
• BUS-301 — Organizational Management and Leadership (Business 213: Leading Organizational Change)
• BUS-111 — Human Resources Management (Business 306)
• BUS-201 — International Business (Business 300 and Business 309: Globalization)
Additional business courses (project management, business essentials, foundations of leadership, financial management) receive General Elective credit.

Three science courses have named CPU codes:
• SCI-105 — Introduction to Chemistry (Chemistry 111)
• SCI-102 — Introduction to Life Processes (Biology 100: Intro to Biology 1)
• BIO-225 — Microbiology (Biology 200: Intro to Biology 2)
Physics I, Healthcare Finance and Budgeting, Medical Terminology, Healthcare Organization and Management, and HR in Healthcare all receive General Elective credit — Crestpoint University does not currently offer a Healthcare or Computer Science degree program.
What math courses transfer with named CPU codes?
Two math courses have named CPU codes:
• MAT-102 — Introduction to Probability and Statistics (Statistics 101: Principles of Statistics) — both ACE and NCCRS versions
• MAT-201 — Ideas in Math (Math 100: Business Math)
Calculus I, Calculus II, Discrete Mathematics, and Quantitative Analysis all receive General Elective credit.
How do I submit UPI Study transcripts to Crestpoint University?
Per Section E of the Articulation Agreement, UPI Study will send official transcripts electronically in PDF format via email to the email address designated by Crestpoint University upon course completion. Students should notify UPI Study of their enrollment at CPU to coordinate transcript delivery. The institution's standard admissions procedures for transfer credit evaluation then apply.
What does “Recommended by UPI Study” mean in the chart?
Rows without that note come from Appendix 1 of the Articulation Agreement Crestpoint University signed with UPI Study on May 19, 2025. UPI Study has added courses since the agreement was signed; for those, our team matched each one to the closest course or general education area in Crestpoint's current Undergraduate Course Index and marked it Recommended by UPI Study. Crestpoint confirms those on evaluation.
Which newer UPI Study courses have a recommended Crestpoint match?
Recommended by UPI Study, for Crestpoint to confirm: College Algebra (MAT-101 College Algebra), English Composition I (ENG-101 English Composition), English Composition II (ENG-301 English Composition II), American Literature (ENG-103 Contemporary American Literature), U.S. History I and II (HIS-101 American History I and HIS-102 American History II), Environmental Science (SCI-301 Environmental Science) and Chemistry Lab (SC-105 Chemistry (with Labs)). Precalculus and Calculus 3 are recommended toward general education in mathematics, Anatomy & Physiology I and II toward natural science, and Art History I and II toward humanities. The three other lab courses, French I and II and Critical Thinking & Analysis are recommended as General Elective credit.
Does Entrepreneurship transfer as BUS-401 or PLG-401?
Appendix 1 lists Entrepreneurship (Business 310) in both of its tables: the ACE table gives BUS-401 Small Business Management and the NCCRS table gives PLG-401 Small Business Administration. The chart shows both on the Entrepreneurship row. Crestpoint's transfer policy says the number of credits awarded for any transfer course is at the sole discretion of Crestpoint administration, so Crestpoint decides how it applies the course when it evaluates your transcript.
What grade do I need for Crestpoint to accept a UPI Study course?
Crestpoint's transfer credit policy says a student must have earned a grade of C or better for a course to be accepted as transfer credit. Crestpoint accepts transfer credit recommended by ACE, NCCRS, the Approved Quality Curriculum (AQC) and the Connecticut Credit Assessment Program (CCAP).
Can a UPI Study course count toward Crestpoint's general education requirements?
Crestpoint's transfer policy says a general education course transferred to Crestpoint can replace a general education requirement if it is related to that area: for example, a transferred calculus course could count toward general education in mathematics, and a chemistry course toward natural science. Any appropriate transfer course can replace a general elective.
How much of a Crestpoint degree can come from transfer credit?
Crestpoint's transfer policy says students must take at least 25% of any undergraduate degree program at Crestpoint. For the legal studies programs it adds a minimum of legal studies credits taken at Crestpoint: 36 credits for the Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies, 24 for the Associate of Paralegal Studies and 15 for the paralegal certificate.
How much does Crestpoint charge per credit, and how does UPI Study compare?
Crestpoint's published undergraduate tuition is $325 per credit ($975 for an individual course, plus a one-time $195 resource fee; crestpoint.edu, checked 13 October 2026), so one 3-credit course is $975 in tuition. At UPI Study the monthly plan is $89 for every course, the 4-month plan is $279, and Lifetime access is a one-time payment. Select courses in the chart above to see your own estimate.
How do I get a transfer evaluation from Crestpoint?
Crestpoint asks students to email unofficial transcripts to [email protected] with their contact information and the program they are interested in; it says a review usually takes 1–2 business days and the evaluation comes by email. For credit to be applied to your degree, Crestpoint needs official transcripts sent from the credit source, and under the agreement UPI Study sends official transcripts to Crestpoint electronically in PDF format.
What if I can't afford the courses right now?
Three options: the monthly plan covers every course for $89 a month; the ReferOn programme on this page pays you points when friends sign up and buy (1 point = $1 at UPI Study, up to $600 in signup points, which equals Lifetime access); and Athena, the chat on this page, can tell you about current offers.
