Excelsior University works with ACE and NCCRS credit under its own conditions. Its Transfer and Evaluated Credit Sources policy says:
“Excelsior reserves the right to evaluate and accept or deny transfer credit for non-collegiate learning experiences that have been evaluated and recommended for college credit by the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS), the American Council on Education Learning Evaluations (ACE), and non-collegiate credit that appears on an official transcript from institutionally accredited schools.”

Which UPI Study courses can I bring to Excelsior?

How do I submit my UPI Study transcript to Excelsior?
Complete your UPI Study courses and request your official transcript. Contact an Excelsior University Enrollment Specialist via excelsior.edu/nccrs to learn their current process for submitting your credit for evaluation.
What degrees does Excelsior University offer?
Excelsior University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees through two schools: the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. With a main campus in Albany, New York and an educational site in St. Petersburg, Florida, Excelsior serves non-traditional learners through online and hybrid offerings.
Which Excelsior requirements can't be met with ACE or NCCRS credit?
Excelsior's Transfer and Evaluated Credit Sources policy names them. In technology degrees, ACE and NCCRS evaluated credit does not apply to Statistics, Discrete Mathematics and the major core and concentration (BS in Information Technology, BS in Cybersecurity); Discrete Mathematics and the major core and concentration (BS in Computer Science); or General Chemistry, the major core and the concentration (BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology). The BS in Nuclear Engineering Technology and BS in Electronic Engineering Technology exclude Calculus I and II, Physics, Chemistry and their major core, among others. Everywhere else, the credit is evaluated for your program.
Can I use ACE or NCCRS credit in an Excelsior nursing degree?
In a limited amount. Excelsior's policy says non-collegiate credit does not apply to the nursing major core, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology or the sociology requirement in its nursing degrees (the bachelor's degrees also exclude Ethics and Statistics, among others), and that up to 25% of the general education requirement can come from non-collegiate sources of credit.
How does ACE or NCCRS credit appear on my Excelsior transcript?
Excelsior's policy says all approved transfer or evaluated sources of credit are assigned a “Pass” (P) grade on Excelsior transcripts and do not count in the Excelsior GPA.
When should I send my UPI Study transcript to Excelsior?
Early. Excelsior runs its official evaluation at the time you are admitted, and its NCCRS page lists a $300 Post-Admission Credit Evaluation Service for credit submitted later (it takes effect 30 days after admission). The policy asks for an official transcript sent to Excelsior's Office of the Registrar, with a date not more than one year old.
How many credits can I transfer to Excelsior?
Excelsior's NCCRS page says you can transfer up to 113 credits. You still have to meet the minimum degree, program and institutional credit requirements of your Excelsior program.
Who qualifies for Excelsior's NCCRS partner tuition?
Excelsior's NCCRS page says individuals who have completed a minimum of two courses are eligible for the partner benefits. It lists associate and bachelor's tuition at $460 per credit for partners instead of $510 (nursing programs have their own rates). Confirm current terms with an Excelsior Enrollment Specialist.
Do my UPI Study courses have to be recent for Excelsior?
Excelsior's policy says learning experiences evaluated and recommended by NCCRS or ACE must have been completed during the period for which the credit was recommended. Your UPI Study transcript shows the dates.
Is there a deadline to finish a UPI Study course before I transfer to Excelsior?
No deadline. All courses are self-paced: you can finish as fast or as slow as you want. There is no minimum or maximum time to finish a course. Assignments take about 48 hours to be checked, so allow about two days after your last submission before you request the transcript for Excelsior.
