Database Programming is the study of how information is stored, organized, and retrieved in database systems. In this course, students learn SQL and database design principles so they can create tables, add and update data, and write queries that answer real questions from stored data. It also covers how to keep databases accurate, efficient, and secure.
Database Programming is taken online and at your own pace, with video lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a final exam. The course grade is based on 25% Attendance, 25% Quizzes, 25% Assignments, and 25% Final Exam. When you finish and your transcript is sent to Indiana Tech, the credit is recognized there as CS 2500 – Database Programming.
The course builds practical skills in SQL, database design, and data security that help students work with information more accurately and efficiently. At Indiana Tech, this credit can support degree planning in programs such as the Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science, where database knowledge may fit into a broader technical or analytical path.
After you complete the course, your transcript is sent for review and Indiana Tech applies the credit as CS 2500 – Database Programming when the course meets its transfer standards. Because this is a named course equivalency, it maps directly to a specific catalog course at Indiana Tech, which gives you clearer placement in your degree plan than a general elective would. Indiana Tech considers curriculum-related coursework with a grade of C or better, and up to 90 credits may transfer toward the degree. That matters when you are planning ahead for an Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science at Indiana Tech, since transfer credit has to fit within the 75% maximum.
This course is a good fit for students who want a clear transfer path to Indiana Tech and need a named course equivalency rather than a loose elective match. It is especially useful for people building toward Indiana Tech’s degree programs while staying mindful of the 90-credit transfer limit. It is not the best choice for someone who needs a course that is already completed through Indiana Tech itself or who is not planning to use the CS 2500 – Database Programming equivalency.
Indiana Institute of Technology (Indiana Tech) is HLC-accredited and accepts transfer credit from both regionally and nationally accredited institutions. Curriculum-related coursework with a grade of C or better is considered for credit.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Final credit awards are determined solely by the receiving university's registrar.
