Savings = semester credits × $518: Strayer's $1,555 undergraduate tuition per course (strayer.edu, 13 Oct 2026) divided by the 3 semester hours one Strayer course equals. Strayer makes the final credit award.
Introduction to Artificial Intelligence is a course about how computer systems can perform tasks that normally require human judgment, such as searching for solutions, making decisions from data, recognizing patterns, and processing language. It covers the main ideas behind AI, including intelligent agents, machine learning, neural networks, logic, probability, and natural language processing, along with the history and limits of the field.
The course is self-paced and online, with video lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a final exam. Your grade is split evenly across four parts: 25% Attendance, 25% Quizzes, 25% Assignments, and 25% Final Exam. Once you finish with a grade of C or higher, the transcript credit is eligible for transfer, and Strayer recognizes it as CIS211 – Introduction to Artificial Intelligence.
The course covers searching for solutions, using probability to reason about uncertain data, and comparing machine learning with other AI methods. Those skills apply to jobs that involve reviewing automated systems, interpreting data-driven decisions, or evaluating software that uses AI. At Strayer, the credit can count toward programs such as the Associate in Arts or the Bachelor's degree, so the time you spend here also reduces the coursework you still need to complete.
After you complete the course, a transcript is sent to Strayer University, where the registrar reviews it for transfer under the ACE and NCCRS-reviewed credit policy. A grade of C or higher is required, and accepted credit is applied as CIS211 – Introduction to Artificial Intelligence. Because this is a named course equivalency, the credit maps to a specific catalog course, which makes it easier to place within your degree plan. Strayer accepts up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree, which is 70% of the total, so credit beyond that limit will not transfer.
This course suits people who already work or study in a technical field and want their prior learning to count toward a Strayer degree. Working adults, students close to finishing a degree, career changers testing interest in AI, and students who want to avoid paying twice for the same material are all good candidates. Because CIS211 is a named equivalency, the credit can match a specific catalog course rather than a general elective, though students should still confirm how it fits their program. Transfer is capped at 126 credits (70%), so anyone who already has a large amount of transfer credit should check how much room remains. The course is not a good fit for someone who expects an introduction with no math or programming, since its outcomes include logarithms, probability, and implementing LISP and Prolog.
Strayer University signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (effective 15 June 2025). Its 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, with a grade of C or higher, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Strayer determines, in its sole discretion, which credits qualify under the agreement and its transfer credit policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Strayer University.
