Savings = semester credits × $518: Strayer's $1,555 undergraduate tuition per course (strayer.edu, 13 Oct 2026) divided by the 3 semester hours one Strayer course equals. Strayer makes the final credit award.
Business Ethics studies how people should make decisions in business when legal rules, company goals, and moral responsibilities do not always point in the same direction. It looks at questions such as fair treatment at work, honest advertising, corporate responsibility, consumer rights, and how businesses affect society and the environment.
The course is self-paced and online. You work through video lessons, then complete quizzes and an assignment, and finish with a final exam. Grades are weighted 20% quizzes, 30% assignment, and 50% final exam, so the exam carries the most weight. Once you earn a C or higher, the course appears on your transcript, and Strayer recognizes that credit as BUS309 – Business Ethics.
Business Ethics trains you to reason through decisions where legal rules, company goals, and moral duties point in different directions, which comes up in hiring, advertising, and managing people. After Strayer applies the credit as BUS309, it sits in your record for either the Associate in Arts or the Bachelor's degree, so the analysis you practiced supports the degree you are already pursuing.
After you finish the course, your transcript is sent to Strayer, and the registrar applies it as BUS309 – Business Ethics. That named recognition means the credit fills a specific course in your degree plan rather than an unassigned transfer line, though you should confirm placement with a Strayer advisor for your program. Transfer credit toward a bachelor's degree is capped at 126 credits, which is 70% of the degree, and this course counts against that limit. Strayer's 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, with a grade of C or higher required.
This course fits students who want a Strayer degree and would rather not repeat ethics content they can complete elsewhere, such as working adults finishing a degree or career changers who need business ethics on their record. Because Strayer recognizes it as a named equivalency, the credit maps to a specific course code instead of a general elective, and up to 126 credits can transfer overall. It is not a good match for anyone who needs a scheduled, instructor-led class, or for anyone who is not confident of earning a C or higher, since that is the minimum grade Strayer accepts.
Strayer University signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (effective 15 June 2025). Its 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, with a grade of C or higher, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Strayer determines, in its sole discretion, which credits qualify under the agreement and its transfer credit policies.
