Savings = semester credits × $518: Strayer's $1,555 undergraduate tuition per course (strayer.edu, 13 Oct 2026) divided by the 3 semester hours one Strayer course equals. Strayer makes the final credit award.
Calculus 1 is the study of change and accumulation. It introduces the idea of a limit, then uses limits to define derivatives and integrals, which are tools for measuring rates of change, slopes, area, and total amount in real situations.
Calculus 1 (Maths 165, 4 credits) is delivered online at your own pace. You work through video lessons, then complete quizzes, assignments, and a final exam, with each of the four parts weighted at 25%: attendance, quizzes, assignments, and the final exam. A completed course with a grade of C or higher produces transcript credit that Strayer recognizes as MAT200 – Precalculus.
Calculus 1 teaches you to measure change: finding rates of change, slopes, optimal values, and accumulated totals from a formula or a real situation. Those skills show up in engineering, economics, data analysis, and the sciences, and they carry into advanced coursework. Because the credit lands at Strayer as MAT200 – Precalculus, it can count toward an Associate in Arts or a Bachelor's degree, so the same work supports both your transcript and your later coursework.
After you finish the course, your transcript is sent to Strayer University, where the registrar applies the credit as MAT200 – Precalculus. That is a named course equivalency in the catalog, so the credit fills a specific course requirement in your degree plan rather than counting only as a general elective. The credit must carry a grade of C or higher to be accepted. Strayer accepts up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree, so the remaining credits for your degree must come from Strayer coursework.
This course fits adults who already have some college credit and want to finish a Strayer degree at a lower cost, since Strayer charges $518 per credit and transferred credit reduces what you pay there. It also suits people changing careers who need to show quantitative ability, and students whose Strayer degree plan calls for a math course that this equivalency fills. Transfer credit is capped at 126 quarter hours, or 70% of the degree, so this course is most useful as one piece of a larger plan. It is not the right choice if you need a live, instructor-led classroom, or if you have not yet worked with algebra and trigonometry, because the outcomes build directly on those functions.
Strayer University signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (effective 15 June 2025). Its 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, with a grade of C or higher, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Strayer determines, in its sole discretion, which credits qualify under the agreement and its transfer credit policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 4 credits to Strayer University.
