Entrepreneurship is the study of how new business ideas are identified, shaped, and turned into workable ventures. It covers the mindset and practical steps involved in starting and growing a business, including market research, planning, financing, ethics, and communicating an idea clearly.
Entrepreneurship is a self-paced online course built around video lessons, quizzes, an assignment, and a final exam. Quizzes make up 20% of the grade, assignments 30%, and the final exam 50%, so the exam carries the most weight. Completing the course with a grade of C or higher produces the transcript credit that Strayer reviews and recognizes as BUS313 – Intro to Entrepreneurship.
The course covers how to shape a business idea, write a plan with market analysis, compare business structures and financing options, and think through taxation and ethics before they become problems. Those skills apply whether you are launching a side business or running a team inside an existing company. At Strayer, the credit can be applied within programs such as the Associate in Arts or the Bachelor's degree, so the same material supports both your career and your degree progress.
After you finish the course, your transcript is sent to Strayer, and the registrar applies the credit to BUS313 – Intro to Entrepreneurship. Because this is a named equivalency, the credit fills a specific course slot in your degree plan rather than a general elective slot. Strayer's 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, with a grade of C or higher, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree. Before enrolling in other transfer work, check how much of that ceiling you have already used.
This course fits adults who already have some college work and want to finish a Strayer degree without repeating material they can cover in a self-paced format. Because Strayer recognizes it as a named equivalency, BUS313 – Intro to Entrepreneurship, the credit maps to a specific catalog course rather than landing as general elective credit. Students planning a large share of their degree through transfer should note the 126-credit ceiling and plan accordingly. It is not the right choice for anyone who needs live instruction, or who expects a grade below C to count toward the degree.
Strayer University signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (effective 15 June 2025). Its 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, with a grade of C or higher, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Strayer determines, in its sole discretion, which credits qualify under the agreement and its transfer credit policies.
