Ethics in Technology looks at how computers, data, networks, and digital systems affect people, businesses, and society. It covers both the technical side of cybersecurity and the ethical and legal questions that come with privacy, cybercrime, data use, and emerging technologies like AI and IoT.
Ethics in Technology is a self-paced online course built on video lessons, quizzes, an assignment, and a final exam. Grades are weighted 25% attendance, 25% quizzes, 25% assignments, and 25% final exam. Completing the course produces the transcript record that Strayer recognizes as CIS324 – Ethics in IT.
The course covers privacy law, data breaches, encryption, phishing, and the ethical questions raised by AI and IoT, which come up in most IT roles that handle customer or employee data. At Strayer, the credit lands as CIS324 – Ethics in IT inside programs such as the Associate in Arts and the Bachelor's degree, so the material you learn here also moves you forward in a degree you are already pursuing.
After you finish, your completed transcript is sent to Strayer University, where the registrar reviews it for transfer credit. Strayer recognizes the course as CIS324 – Ethics in IT, a named equivalency, so the credit posts under that catalog code on your Strayer record. Credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS is accepted with a grade of C or higher, and Strayer's 2026-2027 catalog allows up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree, so this course counts against that ceiling. Confirm how CIS324 fits your specific degree plan with a Strayer advisor before you enroll elsewhere.
This course fits students who want to bring a completed course onto a Strayer transcript as CIS324 – Ethics in IT instead of taking the subject again at Strayer, including working adults finishing a degree and career changers adding an IT-focused credit. Strayer accepts up to 126 quarter hours, or 70%, toward a bachelor's degree, so it works best for students who still have enough remaining coursework to finish there. It is not a good match for anyone who needs a classroom-based course or who does not plan to use Strayer as the degree destination.
Strayer University signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (effective 15 June 2025). Its 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, with a grade of C or higher, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Strayer determines, in its sole discretion, which credits qualify under the agreement and its transfer credit policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Strayer University.
