Savings = semester credits × $518: Strayer's $1,555 undergraduate tuition per course (strayer.edu, 13 Oct 2026) divided by the 3 semester hours one Strayer course equals. Strayer makes the final credit award.
Foundations of Leadership is a course about how people guide teams, make decisions, and influence organizations. It introduces major leadership theories, leadership styles, and the relationship between leadership and management, with attention to communication, authority, and workplace decision-making.
Foundations of Leadership is a self-paced online course. Students work through video lessons, quizzes, an assignment, and a final exam on their own schedule. When the course is completed with a grade of C or higher, the resulting transcript credit is what Strayer recognizes as BUS302 – Management Concepts.
The course covers how leaders guide teams, resolve conflicts, weigh decisions with quantitative analysis, and write mission and vision statements, all of which apply to supervisory roles and everyday team work. At Strayer, the resulting BUS302 – Management Concepts credit can be applied toward degree plans in programs such as the Associate in Arts and the Bachelor's degree, which reduces the coursework remaining before graduation.
After a student completes the course, the transcript is sent to Strayer, where the credit is reviewed under Strayer's articulation agreement with UPI Study, effective 15 June 2025, and the catalog's requirement of a grade of C or higher. Accepted credit is applied as BUS302 – Management Concepts, a named course equivalency that maps to a specific catalog course code rather than a general elective. Strayer's 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree, so this credit counts within that limit alongside any other transfer work.
This course suits working adults and degree-finishers who already have some college credit and want a recognized management course at Strayer without repeating that content there. Cost-conscious students may also find it useful, since each transferred credit offsets coursework billed at Strayer's $518 per-credit rate. Because Strayer accepts up to 126 quarter hours (70%) toward a bachelor's degree, students with large transfer portfolios should confirm how this credit fits under that ceiling. It is not a good match for students who need live, instructor-led classes, or for anyone who needs the credit to count with a grade below C.
Strayer University signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (effective 15 June 2025). Its 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, with a grade of C or higher, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Strayer determines, in its sole discretion, which credits qualify under the agreement and its transfer credit policies.
