Savings = semester credits × $518: Strayer's $1,555 undergraduate tuition per course (strayer.edu, 13 Oct 2026) divided by the 3 semester hours one Strayer course equals. Strayer makes the final credit award.
International Business looks at how companies operate across national borders. It covers how culture, trade rules, exchange rates, and political and economic differences affect the way businesses sell, negotiate, hire, and make decisions in different countries.
You work through the course online at your own pace, watching video lessons, completing quizzes, and submitting the assignment before taking the final exam. Your grade is weighted 20% quizzes, 30% assignment, and 50% final exam, so the exam carries the most weight. Once you finish with a passing grade, the course appears on your transcript, and that transcript credit is what Strayer reviews and recognizes as ELC000 – General Elective.
The course explains how exchange rates, trade rules, and cultural norms shape the way businesses sell, negotiate, and hire across borders. Those skills apply to domestic jobs that involve overseas suppliers, export markets, or international clients. At Strayer, the credit counts as a general elective, so it adds to total credit hours in programs such as the Associate in Arts and the Bachelor's degree.
After you complete the course, ask your institution to send your transcript to Strayer. Strayer's registrar reviews the credit and, when the grade is a C or higher, applies it as ELC000 – General Elective. That placement fills elective space in your degree plan and does not satisfy a named major requirement. Strayer accepts up to 126 quarter hours of transfer credit toward a bachelor's degree, which is 70% of the total, so count this course against that ceiling when you map out your remaining credits.
This course fits working adults and degree-finishers who need elective hours to complete a Strayer program and want a business-focused option. Career changers moving toward roles that involve global trade will also find it relevant. It is not a good choice if you need a specific required course in your major, because the Strayer recognition is a general elective and not a direct equivalent. Keep in mind that transfer credit is capped at 126 quarter hours, so plan the rest of your coursework around that limit.
Strayer University signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (effective 15 June 2025). Its 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, with a grade of C or higher, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Strayer determines, in its sole discretion, which credits qualify under the agreement and its transfer credit policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Strayer University.
