Savings = semester credits × $518: Strayer's $1,555 undergraduate tuition per course (strayer.edu, 13 Oct 2026) divided by the 3 semester hours one Strayer course equals. Strayer makes the final credit award.
Business Math is the use of everyday mathematics in business settings. It covers topics like percentages, fractions, decimals, graphs, equations, probability, statistics, and basic financial calculations such as interest, depreciation, and installment purchases. The goal is to help you understand and solve the kinds of numerical problems that come up in business and personal finance.
Business Math is a self-paced online course built around video lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a final exam. Your final grade is weighted equally across four parts: 25% Attendance, 25% Quizzes, 25% Assignments, and 25% Final Exam. Strayer accepts this course with a grade of C or higher, and that grade is what produces the transcript credit Strayer recognizes as MAT110 – Using Math to Inform Your World.
The course covers percentages, interest, depreciation, installment purchases, and basic statistics, which come up in pricing decisions, budgeting, loan comparisons, and reading business reports. Once the credit lands at Strayer as MAT110, those quantitative skills carry into the coursework of programs such as the Associate in Arts and the Bachelor's degree. You practice the same calculations you would use on the job, so the coursework and the work itself reinforce each other.
After you finish the course, your transcript is sent to Strayer University, where the registrar reviews it and applies MAT110 – Using Math to Inform Your World to your record. Because this is a named course equivalency and not a general elective, the credit maps directly to a specific catalog code and can be placed in your degree plan accordingly. Your Strayer advisor can confirm exactly how MAT110 fits your program. Under the 2026-2027 catalog, Strayer accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS with a grade of C or higher, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree.
This course suits working adults who want to finish a Strayer degree without retaking math they can already handle, and students who want to lower their total tuition, since each transferred credit is one you will not pay for at Strayer's $518 per-credit rate. Because the credit is recognized as a named equivalency, it maps to a specific Strayer course code, and it counts toward the up-to-126-credit (70%) transfer limit. It is not a good fit if you need a course that follows a live, instructor-led schedule, or if you need a Strayer requirement other than MAT110 to be satisfied by this credit.
Strayer University signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (effective 15 June 2025). Its 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, with a grade of C or higher, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Strayer determines, in its sole discretion, which credits qualify under the agreement and its transfer credit policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Strayer University.
