Savings = semester credits × $518: Strayer's $1,555 undergraduate tuition per course (strayer.edu, 13 Oct 2026) divided by the 3 semester hours one Strayer course equals. Strayer makes the final credit award.
Programming in C++ is an introduction to how computers follow instructions and how programmers write those instructions in C++. The course covers the basics of programming logic, algorithms, data types, control structures, loops, arrays, strings, and object-oriented programming concepts. It is a good starting point for understanding how software is built and how code is organized to solve problems.
The course is self-paced and delivered online, so you work through video lessons on your own schedule. Your grade is built from quizzes (20%), an assignment (30%), and a final exam (50%), and a grade of C or higher is what allows the completed course to transfer to Strayer as CIS328 – C++ Programming II.
The course covers variables, control structures, loops, arrays, strings, and object-oriented concepts such as classes, inheritance, and polymorphism, which are the skills you use when reading, fixing, or extending existing code at work. At Strayer, the credit can be applied within programs such as the Associate in Arts or the Bachelor's degree, so the programming foundation and degree progress come from the same course.
After you finish the course with a grade of C or higher, your transcript is sent to Strayer University, and the registrar applies the credit as CIS328 – C++ Programming II. Because this is a named equivalency, the credit maps to a specific catalog course rather than appearing as general elective credit, which makes it easier to place within your degree plan. Strayer's 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, and up to 126 quarter hours (70% of the degree) may transfer toward a bachelor's degree. Review your remaining requirements against that limit before you enroll.
This course suits adults finishing a Strayer degree, career changers who want a working foundation in C++, and cost-conscious students who would rather bring in credit they have already earned than pay Strayer's $518 per-credit rate for it. Because Strayer recognizes the course as CIS328 – C++ Programming II and caps transfer at 126 credits, it fits best for students whose plan includes that course and who have room under that ceiling. It is not a good match for anyone who needs a live instructor, a fixed weekly class meeting time, or a course focused on a language other than C++.
Strayer University signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (effective 15 June 2025). Its 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, with a grade of C or higher, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Strayer determines, in its sole discretion, which credits qualify under the agreement and its transfer credit policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Strayer University.
