Savings = semester credits × $518: Strayer's $1,555 undergraduate tuition per course (strayer.edu, 13 Oct 2026) divided by the 3 semester hours one Strayer course equals. Strayer makes the final credit award.
Psychology of Personality looks at how and why people differ in their patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. It introduces major theories of personality, from Freud and other psychodynamic thinkers to behavioral, cognitive, humanistic, and biological approaches, along with the research methods used to study personality.
The course is self-paced and online, with video lessons you work through on your own schedule. Your grade comes from quizzes (20%), an assignment (30%), and a final exam (50%), so the final exam carries the most weight. Once you pass, the course appears on your transcript, and that transcript entry is what Strayer matches to PSY101 – Smarter Decisions through Psychology.
Personality psychology gives you a structured way to explain why people with similar circumstances act differently, which is useful in management, hiring, counseling-adjacent roles, and customer-facing work. At Strayer, the credit can count toward programs such as the Associate in Arts and the Bachelor's degree, so the course contributes directly to a degree you are already pursuing. The concepts you learn here also make later psychology or social science courses easier to follow.
After you finish the course, your official transcript is sent to Strayer, where the registrar reviews the credit against the catalog. Accepted credit is applied as PSY101 – Smarter Decisions through Psychology, a named course equivalency, so it posts as a specific catalog course rather than a general elective. Strayer's 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, but only with a grade of C or higher, and total transfer cannot exceed 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree. Confirm where PSY101 fits in your degree plan with a Strayer advisor before you register for remaining courses.
This route suits working adults and degree-finishers who want Strayer's PSY101 equivalency and want to reduce the number of paid classes they take at $518 per credit. Because transfer is capped at 126 quarter hours, the credit fills part of a bachelor's degree, so students who have already used much of that allowance should check their total before enrolling. It is not the right choice for students who need live, instructor-led classes, or for anyone who expects a grade below C to transfer.
Strayer University signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (effective 15 June 2025). Its 2026-2027 catalog accepts credit reviewed by ACE and NCCRS, with a grade of C or higher, up to 126 quarter hours toward a bachelor's degree.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Strayer determines, in its sole discretion, which credits qualify under the agreement and its transfer credit policies.
