Advanced Social Psychology studies how people think about, influence, and relate to one another in social settings. It looks at topics such as attitudes, persuasion, prejudice, conformity, identity, and group behavior, with an emphasis on how these processes shape everyday actions and decisions.
Advanced Social Psychology (Psychology 310, 3 credits) is a self-paced online course built on video lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a final exam. Your grade combines four equal parts: 25% attendance, 25% quizzes, 25% assignments, and 25% final exam. Once you complete the course and the transcript credit posts, it counts toward Pathways College as General Elective (Pathways).
The course trains you to explain why people act the way they do in groups, how attitudes form, and how persuasion and conformity work, and to back those explanations with research. Those skills carry into management, hiring, communication, and community work. At Pathways, the 3 credits fill elective slots in programs such as the Associate degree and the Bachelor of Arts, so the learning also moves your degree forward.
After you finish the course, the transcript is sent to Pathways College, where the registrar applies it as General Elective (Pathways), an elective equivalency. That means the 3 credits count toward your total credit hours and your elective requirements rather than a particular required course in your major or general education. Pathways allows up to 90 credits (75%) to transfer, so this course uses part of that allowance alongside any other transfer credit you bring. Check your degree plan with a Pathways advisor to confirm how the elective credit fits your program.
This course suits students who want to reduce the number of courses left before a Pathways degree, including working adults returning to school, career changers, and students who want to limit tuition spending. Because the credit is recognized as a General Elective at Pathways, it helps with total credit hours and elective requirements, and it does not fulfill a specific major or general education course. Pathways caps transfer credit at 90 credits (75%), so students who need the course should plan for it within that limit. It is not a good fit for anyone who needs a named Pathways course to satisfy a major or general education requirement, or for anyone who expects the course to replace in-person instruction with a live instructor.
Pathways College signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (July 2025): 17 named course equivalents, plus elective credit for other UPI Study courses not used for general education or the major, up to 48 credits.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Pathways College's Registrar reviews and grants transfer credit under Pathways' policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Pathways College.
