Calculus 2 is the next step after introductory calculus, focused on techniques for evaluating integrals and using them to solve more advanced problems. It also introduces sequences, infinite series, and power series, which are ways of representing and approximating functions. In practical terms, the course asks you to choose the right method for a problem and explain why it works.
Calculus 2 (Maths 265) is a self-paced online course built on video lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a final exam. Your grade combines 25% Attendance, 25% Quizzes, 25% Assignments, and 25% Final Exam, so steady work across the term matters as much as the exam. When you complete the course and earn the 4 credits, that transcript entry is what Pathways College recognizes as a General Elective (Pathways) equivalency.
The course teaches you to pick an integration method, such as substitution, integration by parts, trigonometric methods, or partial fractions, and to explain why that method fits the problem. That habit of justifying a choice carries into technical and analytical work, from modeling costs and rates to reading quantitative reports. At Pathways, these 4 credits count toward the total hours and elective requirements of programs such as an Associate degree or a Bachelor of Arts, so the skills and the degree progress arrive together.
After you finish Calculus 2, UPI Study sends your transcript to Pathways College. The Pathways registrar then applies the course as a General Elective (Pathways), an elective equivalency that counts toward your total credit hours and elective requirements. Because the credit is elective rather than a named course equivalent, it fills open elective space in your degree plan rather than replacing a specific Pathways course. Pathways accepts up to 90 transfer credits, which is 75% of a degree, so this credit counts toward that ceiling.
This course suits students who already finished introductory calculus and want to keep a Pathways degree on track without repeating material they have covered. Working adults returning to school and students closing out a degree often find it useful, since the 4 credits fill elective space rather than a required major slot. Keep in mind that transfer credit at Pathways is capped at 90 credits, or 75%, so this course is one part of a larger plan. It is not a good fit for anyone who has not yet completed introductory calculus, or who needs a calculus credit to satisfy a specific required course, because this credit is recognized as a general elective.
Pathways College signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (July 2025): 17 named course equivalents, plus elective credit for other UPI Study courses not used for general education or the major, up to 48 credits.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Pathways College's Registrar reviews and grants transfer credit under Pathways' policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 4 credits to Pathways College.
