Healthcare Organization and Management is the study of how healthcare workplaces are structured and run. It looks at who does what in hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and other health settings, and how leaders make decisions about staffing, communication, planning, quality, and patient care. The course also covers the rules and systems that shape healthcare in the United States, including legal and ethical responsibilities.
Health 302 is a self-paced online course built around video lessons, with graded quizzes, one assignment, and a final exam. Quizzes count for 20% of your grade, the assignment for 30%, and the final exam for 50%, so the exam carries the most weight and is worth planning around. Completing the course produces a transcript entry for 3 credits, which Pathways recognizes as General Elective (Pathways).
The course explains how hospitals, clinics, and medical offices divide responsibilities, make staffing and planning decisions, and manage quality and patient care. Those skills apply directly if you work in a health setting, and they carry over to any workplace that depends on clear roles and sound decisions. At Pathways, the 3 credits count as elective hours within an Associate degree or a Bachelor of Arts, so the coursework contributes to graduation instead of sitting unused on your transcript.
Once you finish Health 302, your transcript is sent to Pathways College. The Pathways registrar applies the course as General Elective (Pathways), an elective equivalency that counts toward total credit hours and elective requirements in your degree plan. Pathways allows up to 90 credits (75%) to transfer, so these 3 credits count toward that ceiling along with any other transferred work. Confirm with a Pathways advisor where the elective hours fall in your Associate degree or Bachelor of Arts plan.
This course suits adults who already work in or near healthcare and want coursework that moves toward a Pathways degree, as well as students who need a few remaining elective hours and prefer a format they can fit around other obligations. Because Pathways recognizes it as a General Elective rather than a named major or general education equivalent, it works best when your plan has open elective space, and it counts toward the 90-credit (75%) transfer ceiling. It is not the right choice if you need a course that fulfills a specific major or general education requirement, or if you want an instructor-led class with a set meeting schedule.
Pathways College signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (July 2025): 17 named course equivalents, plus elective credit for other UPI Study courses not used for general education or the major, up to 48 credits.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Pathways College's Registrar reviews and grants transfer credit under Pathways' policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Pathways College.
