Human Resources Management studies how organizations hire, develop, support, and evaluate employees. It also looks at the laws, policies, and management practices that shape workplace decisions, from recruiting and interviewing to pay, benefits, and performance reviews.
Human Resources Management (Business 306) is a self-paced online course built on video lessons, a quiz series, an assignment, and a final exam. Your grade combines 25% Attendance, 25% Quizzes, 25% Assignments, and 25% Final Exam, so steady work across the whole term matters as much as the last test. Once you complete the course and the transcript is issued, the 3 credits carry over to Pathways as General Elective (Pathways).
The course covers how organizations recruit, interview, train, pay, and review employees, along with the laws that govern those decisions. Those skills apply whether you end up in an HR role, a supervisory position, or a job where you regularly hire or evaluate people. At Pathways, the 3 credits count toward total credit hours in programs such as the Associate degree and the Bachelor of Arts, so the knowledge also contributes to the degree you are working toward.
After you finish the course, UPI Study sends your transcript to Pathways College. The Pathways registrar then applies the credit as General Elective (Pathways), which counts toward your total credit hours and your elective requirements. Because this is an elective rather than a major or general education course, you should confirm with your advisor where the 3 credits fit within your chosen Associate degree or Bachelor of Arts plan. Keep in mind that total transfer credit at Pathways is capped at 90 credits (75%).
This course suits people who want HR knowledge without committing to a full major, including working adults fitting study around a job, students close to finishing a degree, and those changing careers who need a credible introduction to workplace management. Because Pathways recognizes it as an elective equivalency, it fills elective slots rather than major or general education requirements, so it is not the right choice if you need a specific HR requirement for your program. Students who need a course to meet a particular Pathways requirement, or who want a live classroom with set meeting times, should look elsewhere. Pathways accepts up to 90 credits (75%) in transfer, so plan around that ceiling when you map out your remaining credits.
Pathways College signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (July 2025): 17 named course equivalents, plus elective credit for other UPI Study courses not used for general education or the major, up to 48 credits.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Pathways College's Registrar reviews and grants transfer credit under Pathways' policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Pathways College.
