International Business looks at how companies operate across national borders. It covers how culture, trade rules, exchange rates, and political and economic differences affect the way businesses sell, negotiate, hire, and make decisions in different countries.
International Business (Business 300) is a self-paced online course built around video lessons, with quizzes, one assignment, and a final exam. Quizzes account for 20% of the grade, the assignment for 30%, and the final exam for 50%. When the course is complete and the grade is posted to your transcript, Pathways College recognizes it as a General Elective (Pathways).
The course covers how culture, trade rules, exchange rates, and political and economic conditions shape how a business sells, negotiates, and hires abroad. Those skills apply to supply chain roles, export work, and any job where a decision crosses a border. At Pathways, the credit counts toward total credit hours and elective requirements, so it fits into an Associate degree or a Bachelor of Arts without displacing required coursework.
After you finish the course, your UPI Study transcript is sent to Pathways College. The Pathways registrar then applies the credit as a General Elective (Pathways). That recognition means the 3 credits count toward your total hours and your elective requirements, but not toward general education or major requirements. Pathways accepts up to 90 transfer credits (75%) in total, so this course counts against that ceiling along with any other transferred work.
This course suits working adults who want business content they can finish around a job, degree-finishers who need a few more elective credits, and career changers testing interest in international operations before committing to a larger program. Cost-conscious students may also find it useful, since Pathways charges $206 per credit and elective credit reduces how much remaining coursework they need to pay for. It is not the right choice for anyone who needs this course to satisfy a specific major or general education requirement, because at Pathways it is recognized only as an elective. Transfer credit is also capped at 90 credits (75%), so students who have already used most of that allowance should check the remaining room first.
Pathways College signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (July 2025): 17 named course equivalents, plus elective credit for other UPI Study courses not used for general education or the major, up to 48 credits.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Pathways College's Registrar reviews and grants transfer credit under Pathways' policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Pathways College.
