Microeconomics is the study of how individuals, households, and businesses make choices when resources are limited. It focuses on topics like supply and demand, prices, consumer behavior, production costs, and how markets respond to government rules, taxes, and competition. In this course, you learn how these decisions shape everyday markets such as labor, goods, and financial services.
Microeconomics is a self-paced online course. You work through video lessons on your own schedule, then complete quizzes, assignments, and a final exam, with grades weighted 20% quizzes, 30% assignments, and 50% final exam. Once the course is complete, the transcript credit is what Pathways College reviews, and that credit is recognized there as BUS212 – Principles of Microeconomics.
The course covers supply and demand, pricing, production costs, and how taxes, competition, and regulation reshape markets. Those same ideas show up when you weigh a job offer, a lease, or a loan. At Pathways, the credit lands as BUS212 – Principles of Microeconomics, so it can count within an Associate degree or Bachelor of Arts program rather than sitting outside your plan.
After you finish Microeconomics, have your transcript sent to Pathways College. The Pathways registrar applies the credit as BUS212 – Principles of Microeconomics, one of the 17 named course equivalents in the July 2025 articulation agreement with UPI Study. That named recognition means the credit maps to a specific catalog course, so it can satisfy that requirement in your degree plan. Up to 90 credits (75%) may transfer to Pathways, so keep that ceiling in mind as you plan your remaining hours.
This course suits adults who already have some college credit and want to finish a Pathways Associate degree or Bachelor of Arts at lower cost, especially those who need a course that maps to a specific requirement. Because the credit is a named equivalency, it fills the BUS212 slot directly instead of landing only as general elective credit. It is not a good fit if you need a course Pathways does not map to this equivalency, or if you need live, instructor-led class meetings, since the course is self-paced and online.
Pathways College signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (July 2025): 17 named course equivalents, plus elective credit for other UPI Study courses not used for general education or the major, up to 48 credits.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Pathways College's Registrar reviews and grants transfer credit under Pathways' policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Pathways College.
