Project Management is the study of how to plan, organize, and complete work with a clear goal, deadline, and budget. In this course, you learn how projects move from an initial idea and business case through planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. It also covers the tools and decisions that help teams keep work on track and handle risks, costs, and changes.
Project Management is a self-paced online course that combines video lessons with quizzes, an assignment, and a final exam. Quizzes count for 20% of the grade, the assignment for 30%, and the final exam for 50%, so the exam carries the most weight. When you complete the course, your UPI Study transcript shows the 3 credits, and Pathways College recognizes them as General Elective (Pathways).
The course covers how a project moves from an initial idea and business case through planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, along with methods for managing risk, cost, and change. Those skills apply to most jobs that involve deadlines, budgets, or coordinating other people. At Pathways, the 3 credits count toward total credit hours in either an Associate degree or a Bachelor of Arts, so the coursework contributes to a degree you are already pursuing.
After you finish the course, UPI Study sends your transcript to Pathways College. The Pathways registrar then applies the credit as General Elective (Pathways), which counts toward your total credit hours and your elective requirements. Because this is an elective equivalency, it does not replace a required course in your degree plan, and you should confirm with a Pathways advisor where the credit lands in your program. Pathways accepts up to 90 transfer credits, or 75% of the total, so this course counts toward that limit.
This course suits people who want to reduce the number of credits they pay Pathways for, including working adults, students closing out a degree, and those changing careers who want a structured introduction to project work. Because Pathways treats it as an elective, it fills open elective slots rather than a required course, and it counts within the 90-credit transfer ceiling (75% of a degree). It is not a good choice if you need a specific named course for your Pathways major or general education, or if you need live, scheduled instruction instead of self-paced study.
Pathways College signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (July 2025): 17 named course equivalents, plus elective credit for other UPI Study courses not used for general education or the major, up to 48 credits.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Pathways College's Registrar reviews and grants transfer credit under Pathways' policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Pathways College.
