Psychology of Diversity looks at how people understand and respond to differences in culture, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, and ideology. It also examines how stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination, and bias develop, and how psychologists study those patterns across groups and settings.
Psychology of Diversity is a self-paced online course built around video lessons, quizzes, an assignment, and a final exam. Grades are split evenly across attendance, quizzes, assignments, and the final exam, at 25% each. Completing the course produces transcript credit that Pathways College recognizes as LIB112 – Multicultural and Gender Studies, a named equivalency tied to a specific catalog code.
The course covers how stereotypes, prejudice, and bias form, how researchers measure them, and which strategies reduce them in practice. Those skills carry into supervising teams, serving clients, and working across cultural and generational differences. Once the credit lands at Pathways as LIB112 – Multicultural and Gender Studies, it can count toward an Associate degree or a Bachelor of Arts, so the coursework does not have to be repeated.
After you finish the course, the transcript is sent to Pathways College, where the registrar applies the credit. Pathways recognizes it as LIB112 – Multicultural and Gender Studies under its articulation agreement with UPI Study, signed in July 2025, so it fills that named place in your degree plan. Transfer credit is capped at 90 credits, or 75% of the total, so count this course against that limit when you plan other transfers. Pathways offers Associate degree and Bachelor of Arts programs, and an advisor there can confirm exactly how LIB112 fits each one.
This course suits working adults finishing a degree, career changers who need a recognized Pathways course on their record, and students who want to keep transfer costs down at Pathways' $206 per credit rate. It is most useful to students whose Pathways plan calls for LIB112, since the named equivalency is a direct match rather than general elective credit. It is not a good fit for anyone who cannot keep up with attendance and regular quizzes, which together make up half the grade, or for students who expect transfer work alone to go beyond Pathways' 90-credit transfer limit.
Pathways College signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (July 2025): 17 named course equivalents, plus elective credit for other UPI Study courses not used for general education or the major, up to 48 credits.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Pathways College's Registrar reviews and grants transfer credit under Pathways' policies.
