Psychology of Personality looks at how and why people differ in their patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. It introduces major theories of personality, from Freud and other psychodynamic thinkers to behavioral, cognitive, humanistic, and biological approaches, along with the research methods used to study personality.
The course is self-paced and fully online, built around video lessons, quizzes, an assignment, and a final exam. Quizzes make up 20% of the grade, the assignment 30%, and the final exam 50%, so the exam carries the most weight. Your completed course record is what Pathways evaluates when it recognizes this work as LIB280 – Lifespan Development.
Understanding how thinking, feeling, and behaving differ from person to person is useful in any job that involves managing people, counseling, teaching, or serving the public. The course also teaches you to read personality assessments critically instead of accepting their labels at face value. At Pathways, the credit lands as LIB280 – Lifespan Development, which can be applied within an Associate degree or a Bachelor of Arts plan.
After you finish the course, your transcript is sent to Pathways College. The Pathways registrar reviews it and applies the named equivalency, recording the credit as LIB280 – Lifespan Development on your Pathways record. Because this is a named course equivalent rather than unassigned elective credit, it is tied to a specific catalog course in your plan. Pathways accepts up to 90 credits (75%) in transfer, and this course counts toward that limit.
This course suits students who want to carry completed coursework into a Pathways degree without repeating material, including working adults finishing a degree and career changers looking for a lower-cost route to credit at $206 per credit. Because Pathways recognizes it by name as a course equivalency, it carries more certainty than general elective credit, though total transfer is capped at 90 credits. It is not a good fit for anyone who needs scheduled, instructor-led meetings, since the course runs at your own pace.
Pathways College signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (July 2025): 17 named course equivalents, plus elective credit for other UPI Study courses not used for general education or the major, up to 48 credits.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Pathways College's Registrar reviews and grants transfer credit under Pathways' policies.
Enroll for $250 (or use a UPI Study subscription), finish in 28–30 days, and transfer 3 credits to Pathways College.
