Quantitative Analysis is the study of how to use numbers, models, and probability to make better decisions. In this course, students learn how to compare options, measure risk, and choose among alternatives using tools such as decision trees, simulations, inventory models, and queueing models. It is especially useful for business problems where the answer is not obvious and data has to guide the choice.
Quantitative Analysis (Math 250) is a self-paced online course built around video lessons, quizzes, an assignment, and a final exam. Your grade is weighted equally across four parts: 25% attendance, 25% quizzes, 25% assignments, and 25% final exam. Once you complete the course and the credit posts to your transcript, Pathways College recognizes its 3 credits as General Elective (Pathways), an elective equivalency that counts toward total credit hours and elective requirements.
The course teaches you to compare options, measure risk, and choose among alternatives using decision trees, simulations, inventory models, and queueing models. These tools are most useful when a business decision has no obvious answer and data needs to guide the choice. At Pathways, the 3 elective credits fit into an Associate degree or Bachelor of Arts plan, so the skills come as part of a degree you are already working toward.
After you finish the course, the transcript is sent to Pathways College, and the registrar applies it as General Elective (Pathways). That designation means the 3 credits count toward your total credit hours and your elective requirements in your degree plan, but they do not fill a named major or general education slot. Pathways allows up to 90 credits (75%) to transfer, so this course uses part of that allowance alongside any other transferred work. Speak with a Pathways advisor about how the credit fits your Associate degree or Bachelor of Arts plan before you enroll.
This course suits students who want an analytical course to count toward a Pathways degree in a self-paced format, such as working adults fitting coursework around a job, students close to finishing who need a few remaining elective hours, and career changers moving toward management or operations roles. Because it transfers as an elective rather than a named equivalent, it will not replace a required major or general education course, and transfer credit at Pathways is capped at 90 credits (75%). It is not a good fit for someone who needs this specific course to satisfy a requirement, or for someone who prefers a set class schedule.
Pathways College signed an articulation agreement with UPI Study (July 2025): 17 named course equivalents, plus elective credit for other UPI Study courses not used for general education or the major, up to 48 credits.
Transfer credits are never guaranteed. Pathways College's Registrar reviews and grants transfer credit under Pathways' policies.
