- Identify the organs of the respiratory system and explain the mechanics of breathing and gas exchange
- Describe the anatomy and physiology of the digestive system, including digestion, absorption, and the role of accessory organs
- Explain major metabolic pathways and principles of nutrition, including energy balance and metabolic regulation
- Describe the anatomy of the urinary system and explain urine formation and the kidney's role in maintaining fluid, electrolyte, and homeostatic balance
- Explain the regulation of body fluid compartments, electrolyte balance, and acid–base balance, including common related disorders
- Describe the anatomy and physiology of the male and female reproductive systems and explain the hormonal regulation of reproduction
