- Use anatomical terminology, directional terms, body planes, and levels of structural organization to describe the human body and its organ systems accurately
- Apply fundamental chemical principles โ atomic structure, bonding, and the properties of water and biomolecules โ to biological processes in the human body
- Identify the structural components of the cell membrane and explain mechanisms of membrane transport and organelle function
- Describe the structure and functions of the integumentary system and its role in protection, thermoregulation, sensation, and homeostasis
- Explain the functions, classification, and tissue structure of the skeletal system, including the axial and appendicular skeleton and bone repair
- Classify joints by structure and function and identify the body movements produced at synovial joints
- Describe the structure and physiology of muscle tissue, including the neuromuscular junction, contraction, and the identification and action of major muscles
- Explain the structure and function of nervous tissue, including neural signaling and the organization of the nervous system
- Identify the major endocrine glands and explain hormone signaling and the role of feedback loops in maintaining homeostasis
