Frequently asked questions

Everything about CrestPoint.

Does CrestPoint University officially accept UPI Study credits?
Yes. UPI Study and CrestPoint University signed an articulation agreement on May 19, 2025. Appendix 1 of that agreement lists 29 UPI Study courses alongside the specific CrestPoint course each one transfers as. CrestPoint accepts credit recommended by ACE, NCCRS, and CCAP, and requires a grade of C- or better for a course to transfer.
Can I earn CrestPoint credit without enrolling at CrestPoint first?
You can complete UPI Study courses independently at any time — no CrestPoint enrollment or application is required to take them. To receive academic credit, the articulation agreement requires that you be enrolled at CrestPoint as a student in good standing and meet course and program requirements. Complete the courses first, then submit your official UPI Study transcript for evaluation.
How many credits can I transfer toward my CrestPoint degree?
CrestPoint accepts up to 72 general education credits toward a degree. For the Bachelor of Business Administration, students must complete at least 36 credits in business administration at CrestPoint. Final credit awards are determined by CrestPoint's registrar.
What grade do I need for CrestPoint to accept a UPI Study course?
CrestPoint requires a grade of C- or better for a course to be accepted as transfer credit. Because UPI Study courses are self-paced and you sit the proctored final when you're ready, you control when you demonstrate that mastery.
Are all UPI Study courses on this page named CrestPoint courses?
Yes. All 29 equivalencies listed here map to a specific CrestPoint course code — for example, Business Law transfers as PLG-105 Business Law and Bankruptcy. These come directly from Appendix 1 of the signed articulation agreement, not from generic elective buckets.
How long does it take to complete a UPI Study course?
Most students complete a 3-credit course in a few weeks of focused, part-time study. UPI Study is fully self-paced with no fixed terms or deadlines — you move faster through familiar subjects and slower through harder ones, and take the proctored final online when you're ready.
How does UPI Study compare to taking the course directly at CrestPoint?
CrestPoint's undergraduate tuition is $325 per credit, so a 3-credit course is about $975. UPI Study subscriptions start at $89/month for unlimited access to the full course library, which can substantially reduce the cost of completing transferable general education credit before you enroll. Credit awards are always subject to CrestPoint's registrar review.
Which UPI Study courses are not listed for CrestPoint?
Appendix 1 of the agreement lists many UPI Study courses that CrestPoint had not yet assigned a specific course equivalent to at the time of signing. Those are not shown here, because we only publish equivalencies CrestPoint has actually specified. If you have completed one of those courses, contact CrestPoint's admissions team for a case-by-case evaluation.
